It has only been four days since the FBI surprisingly raided former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence in Palm Beach, Florida. Although Trump stayed at the Trump Tower in New York City during the raid, news broke all around America that the justice department was looking into accusations that the Republican mishandled classified information while in office. While just claims for now, it was reported that FBI agents took around 15 boxes from Trump’s residence. And while some officials suggested the FBI botched the raid, it appears Trump supporters showed the former President some love by showering him with donations.

With Donald Trump still holding rallies all over the country, a quick glance at the crowd proves the massive support that follows him. According to the son of the former president, Eric Trump, his father’s supporters donated so much money to Trump that it not only broke records but raised more money in a single day than “ever before in recent history”. He tweeted, “Breaking: DonaldJTrump.com is shattering all fundraising records and I’m  told has raised more money in the past 24 hours than ever before in recent history! The American people are pissed!”

While Trump supporters donate and voice their disdain for how the FBI handled the raid, a senior Justice Department official, who served the FBI for 30 years, admitted that the entire fiasco was botched by the DOJ. “I know that there is much speculation out there that this is political persecution, but it is really the best and the worst of the bureaucracy in action. They wanted to punctuate the fact that this was a routine law enforcement action, stripped of any political overtones, and yet [they] got exactly the opposite.”

The official added that the FBI wanted to keep the raid under the radar of the public and media, but as the last four days have shown – they failed.

Another official, who was actually briefed on the investigation, shared, “They were seeking to avoid any media circus. So even though everything made sense bureaucratically and the FBI feared that the documents might be destroyed, they also created the very firestorm they sought to avoid, in ignoring the fallout.”

Speaking to the DailyMail.com, Eric Trump noted that he first received the call about the raid and how the FBI mishandled the entire situation. “There’s 30 agents there. They told our lawyer…’You have to leave the property right now. Turn off all security cameras.'” Trying to handle the raid, Eric explained how the FBI refused to give Christina Bobb, Trump’s lawyer, a copy of the original search warrant. Instead of giving on to her, the agents “showed it to her from about 10 feet away.”
