HIGHLAND PARK, IL – Vice President Kamala Harris recently visited the locals from Highland Park, Illinois, in the wake of a horrific July 4th mass shooting that claimed the lives of seven and injured over 30 other victims.
It was during this brief July 5th address before the Highland Park community that Harris delivered her signature brand of what some might call nonsensical word-salad.
“And we have got to take this stuff seriously, as seriously as you are, because you have been forced to take it seriously. The whole nation should understand and have a level of empathy to understand that this can happen anywhere, in any peace-loving community. And we should stand together and speak out about why it’s got to stop.”
Chicago Tribune reporter Jake Sheridan had been among those to share the clip of Harris’ comments in Highland Park, where criticisms from both left and right-leaning media personalities were levied toward Harris’ ostensibly awkward address.
For example, National Review contributor Pradheep J. Shanker commented, “She is amazingly bad at this,” whereas Mediaite contributor Jackson Richman opined, “Seriously, [Kamala Harris] doesn’t know how to speak.”
The latest comments from Harris are hardly the first time she faced criticism over sounding unorganized in her expressed thoughts, as she delivered similarly bizarre remarks this past March during a White House event alongside Jamaican Prime Minister Andrew Holness.
During the March 30th event, Harris and Holness discussed ongoing relations between the United States and Jamaica, which led to Harris going on a strange rant when attempting to explain how the United States was working to assist Jamaica through navigating the negative impacts suffered from the pandemic.
“We also recognize just as it has been in the United States, for Jamaica, one of the issues that has been presented as an issue that is economic in the way of its impact has been the pandemic. So to that end, we are announcing today also that we will assist Jamaica in COVID recovery by assisting in terms of the recovery efforts in Jamaica that have been essential to, I believe, what is necessary to strengthen not only the issue of public health but also the economy.”
Mere days before the odd comments regarding Jamaica, Red Voice Media reported on Harris’ now-infamous “passage of time” speech that spurred mockery of the vice president.
On March 21st, Harris ventured out to Sunset, Louisiana, to tout her and Joe Biden’s efforts to invest in accessible high-speed internet, where she trailed off in a near-incoherent rant about “the significance of the passage of time” that seemed to go nowhere.
“The governor and I, we were all doing a tour of the library here and talking about the significance of the passage of time. Right? The significance of the passage of time. So when you think about it, there is great significance to the passage of time in terms of what we need to do to lay these wires, what we need to do to create these jobs. And there is such great significance to the passage of time when we think about a day in the life of our children.”
