NEW YORK CITY, NY – Apparently, a Carnival Cruise Line ship’s dancefloor earlier in June turned into the scene of a massive brawl while it was sailing toward the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge, according to reports. Footage of the fiasco was captured and uploaded online, showcasing just how insane the debacle was.

The incident reportedly occurred during the early morning hours of June 28th, with the entire brawl consisting of anywhere between 40 to 60 people at its height.

According to the New York Post, the incident started off over a group of passengers getting angered over “an alleged threesome between passengers,” as some of the folks involved in the sordid affair did not extend the courtesy of notifying their significant others aboard.

A booze-cruise with allegedly cheating spouses ostensibly being caught in the act is undoubtedly a recipe for disaster.

Theresa James, who was a passenger aboard the cruise, claims the incident began on the ships fifth floor and had managed to make its way down to the first floor where a dance club and casino are situated.

Clearly, the folks involved took the song “Blood On The Dance Floor” a bit too seriously.

Needless to say, security aboard the vessel gave it their best effort to break the fight up, but had to call for assistance from the Coast Guard due to the dozens of combatants involved.

Despite the chaos that unfolded toward the end of the cruise, James did admit it was a generally good vacation.

There are currently no details on arrests as of this time, with there also being confusion as to whether the NYPD or New Jersey authorities would be handling the case – of course, therein lies the possibility of the incident technically having occurred in international waters.

The cruise line issued a statement regarding the incident, highlighting that no one was seriously injured in the massive brawl.

“Last night while Carnival Magic was returning to New York, a number of guests were involved in an altercation in a nightclub. Thankfully no serious injuries were reported and our onboard security team intervened. The ship arrived as scheduled this morning and shoreside law enforcement authorities were notified and met the ship to interview suspects and witnesses and conduct an investigation.”

David Hookstead, writing for the Daily Caller, noted that he’s not the least bit shocked that a fight broke out on a cruise, pointing out, “You have strangers in a small area together and the alcohol is flowing. That’s a recipe for a disaster.”

Hookstead expanded upon that notion, calling cruise lines the “wild west of vacations.”

“For those of you who don’t know, cruise ships can be wild places. By default, they’re kind of the wild west of vacations. You have thousands of strangers packed into close quarters, and it doesn’t take much to pop off.”
