Although much of Congress is on a two-week break to celebrate the upcoming July 4th holiday, it appears that the January 6th committee hasn’t stopped their efforts to tie former President Donald Trump to the Capitol Hill incident that Democrats claim was somehow comparable to 9/11 and Pearl Harbor. Announcing a surprise witness, the committee will hear testimony from an aide to Trump’s last Chief of Staff, Mark Meadows.

The identity of the individual was kept a secret from the public until the last minute supposedly due to security concerns. But what makes the testimony from the person so interesting is the fact that the person was planning to go work for Trump at Mar-a-Lago.

Declaring that they have new evidence from the witness, who is Cassidy Hutchinson, the committee called for an emergency hearing. But as already mentioned, it seemed that the committee forgot the fact that Hutchinson was eagerly wanting to work alongside Trump in Florida. And for those who might suggest a change of heart due to the events on January 6th, Hutchinson made the decision to work with the former president eight days after the riot.

Sean Davis, editor-in-chief of The Federalist, shed some light on the new witness, tweeting, “The corrupt J6 committee’s new SURPRISE WITNESS was so appalled by Trump and J6 that she…was planning to go work for Trump at his FL residence eight days *after* January 6 (article was published on January 14, 2021). This Soviet show trial is a joke.”

According to Bloomberg, “With such an inside view, Hutchinson sat for at least three closed-door depositions before the committee and has been widely anticipated to emerge as one of its most important live witnesses during a hearing. Among the issues being pursued by the committee is whether Trump, Meadows and others knew that a plan to have Vice President Mike Pence submit the alternate slates of presidential electors from seven states was illegal.”

The outlet added, “According to a transcript of her committee interview, Hutchinson said Meadows and others were directly told by then-White House Counsel Pat Cipollone at a meeting in early December 2020 that the plan was not legally sound.”

Users online mocked the emergency hearing, writing, “But yet the left ignores Biden sending his drug addict son hunter $100k to pay Russian hookers while he was VP. But he knew nothing of his dealings. Yeah right.”

Another person added, “So, it’s okay that Hunter and Joe paid for Russian (spies) escorts, but Pelosi’s podium being stolen almost two years ago is the most important stuff right now?”

And one put, “These hearings are making me so mad. I voted for Biden, but I can’t fill my tank or buy groceries. I don’t care about this dumb sh*t”
