Just a week ago, Joe Biden addressed the nation about the growing concern surrounding which guns are available to the general public. For years, the Democrats have fought against Americans purchasing and owning certain guns that they call “assault weapons.”
On June 2nd, President Biden stated, “The Second Amendment, like all other rights, is not absolute. It was Jus- — it was Justice Scalia who wrote, and I quote, ‘Like most rights, the right…’ — Second Amendment — the rights granted by the Second Amendment are ‘not unlimited.’ Not unlimited. It never has been.” But while the White House continues to attack guns for being the cause of mass shootings, Republican Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene exposed Congress and the Democrats for their blatant hypocrisy.
In the video below, the Republican admitted that while not much can be agreed on in Congress, the Representatives enjoy the safety and security thanks to guns. “Well, we don’t agree on much these days here in Congress, but I know one thing we all agree on. We all agree that we really like guns. See we’re the special privileged elites. We’re the ones in this chamber being protected by guns while the American people don’t have men and women with guns outside their homes. Of course not at any gun free school zone. They’re not protected, nor at work. But here in Congress, the same Congress that’s voting to send just millions and millions of dollars worth of guns to Ukraine so that they can defend themselves is the same Congress working as hard as possible to take away the Second Amendment rights from Americans.”
Greene added, “You see, our job here is to protect rights like due process, and the Second Amendment rights of Americans – not strip them away. Red flag gun laws violate Americans due process rights. And this is the type of thing that we shouldn’t be passing in this Congress, especially while we enjoy the very privileged elite special protection of guns.”
As for the Biden administration, they continue to spread the dangers of citizens owning assault rifles with the President claiming, “This isn’t about taking away anyone’s rights. It’s about protecting children. It’s about protecting families. It’s about protecting whole communities. It’s about protecting our freedoms to go to school, to a grocery store, and to a church without being shot and killed. According to new data just released by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, guns are the number one killer of children in the United States of America. The number one killer. More than car accidents. More than cancer.”
Users online shared the opinion of Greene, thanking her for exposing the double-standard in D.C., “She is why we love, respect, and wish we could make a couple of hundred clones of MTG. Thank you, Brave Woman.”
