During a recent appearance on CNN, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre chuckled at the notion brought up by Don Lemon of Joe Biden’s physical and mental capacity being questioned with regard to him being able to run for office in 2024. Jean-Pierre went so far as to assert that she “can’t even keep up with him” when jazzing up his mental and physical capacity.

Joe Biden is currently 79-years-old, and he’ll be turning 80 this November, meaning come inauguration day (January 20th, 2025) – whether Biden was to win or lose in 2024 – he would be 82-years-old. With the current term Biden is serving in office, there have been an amalgamation of reports and concerns regarding his suspected physical and mental decline.

Furthermore, Biden had yet another infamous trip while walking up the stairs when boarding Air Force One earlier in June, with MSNBC anchor Kristen Welker remarking during the live feed when it occurred, “It appears as though the president did have a slight trip there as he’s boarding Air Force One.”

Taking in all the aforementioned, it’s not unreasonable for people to question whether Biden could even run for office during the 2024 election cycle, let alone handle the job for the ensuing four years after that if elected.

CNN’s Don Lemon asked that very question of the White House press secretary on June 13th, saying, “Does the president have the stamina, physically and mentally, do you think to continue on even after 2024?”

Jean-Pierre laughed off the question presented by the CNN host, claiming that we shouldn’t even be questioning whether Biden is physically or mentally up to the task.

“Don, you’re asking me this question – oh my gosh. He’s the president of the United States, you know, he…I can’t even keep up with him. We just got back from New Mexico. We just got back from California. That is…that is not a question we should be even asking. Just look at the work he does, look at how he’s delivering for the American public.”

The White House press secretary referenced a recent article from the New York Times. This very same question was posed where the piece in the Times featured some Democrats voicing their concerns about Biden’s capabilities to handle 2024.

“That article we’re talking about is hearsay. It’s salacious. That’s not what we care about. We care about how we’re going to deliver for the American people, how are we going to make their lives better. That’s what the president talks about. That is his focus, and that is where we’re going to continue to focus on.”

Perhaps the most telling from the above featured segment was Lemon’s expression while Jean-Pierre was exclaiming about how Biden’s mental and physical capacity shouldn’t be questioned, as he seemingly looked unconvinced in the White House press secretary’s response afforded to his very reasonable question.
