Over the last few months, the Biden administration has done everything within its power to sway the American people into believing that the surge in gas prices has nothing to do with Joe Biden, and everything to do with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Due to the invasion of Ukraine, President Biden has been adamant that Americans struggling at the gas pump is all because of Putin. Biden even called for a gas tax holiday that would save Americans a staggering $12 a month, which was not supported even by his own party. And while most aren’t buying the narrative, the coordinator for energy security, Amos Hochstein, appeared to laugh about the problem when asked to address it on CNBC.

In the video, which is featured below, Hochstein was being interviewed about the growing problem when he was informed, “Some would say there’s been a war on the fossil fuel industry since day one. Is this an oversight? And since day one, President Biden has tried to limit fossil fuel supplies and we’re all paying for it. Do you dispute that at least as far as rhetoric, we’ve heard the President say, let’s listen to what he’s saying. ‘I am going to put the fossil fuel business out of business.’ I can show you other quotes that were similar. From a couple of years ago, I can show you, members of Congress, in the Democratic Party berating oil officials for not cutting production to the same extent that it was cut over in Europe.”

Being sure to share a laugh about a problem that is hurting Americans, the coordinator suggests making sure that our investments are done in such a way that we can accelerate the transition to a cleaner world ahead.

Jared Walczak, vice president of state projects at the Tax Foundation, had an entirely different take on gas prices and the tax break, claiming, “Suspending the gas tax is largely a political gimmick. It is trying to patch over a larger problem. Policymakers trying to artificially bring down prices for a couple of months without doing anything about the underlying restrictions on supply are only going to make the problem worse in the long run.”

As stated above, even members of Biden’s own party don’t seem to be embracing his pathetic attempt to “help” Average Americans at the gas pumps. As Red Voice Media previously reported, Biden’s tax holiday would only save people around 18 cents a gallon. As experts have explained, that only amounts to about $10 to $12 of savings a month.

Nancy Pelosi has refused to endorse the move, and, back in 2008, Barack Obama completely obliterated the idea. In the video below, Obama stated, “We’re arguing over a gimmick to save you half a tank of gas over the course of the entire summer so that everyone in Washington can pat themselves on the back and say that they did something. Well, let me tell you something. This isn’t an idea designed to get you through the summer. It’s an idea designed to get them through an election.”
