School boards all over the country have come under fire over the last year after parents started confronting them about learning material surrounding gender identity and sexual orientation. The districts fought back, suggesting that the parents were nothing more than domestic terrorists given how intense and heated the meetings got. On more than one occasion, a parent was silenced for doing nothing more than reading from a book that was available to children. But while school boards act like the protectors of children and future generations, one Virginia teacher assistant explained how she was sexually assaulted by a student and eventually fired for trying bring it to the administration’s attention.

Speaking with Fox News’ Laura Ingraham, as can be seen in the video below, Laurie Vandermeulen claimed that she was assaulted by a student nearly 80 times in a single day. The student would grope her and force his hand onto her private parts. Shaken by the acts of aggression, Vandermeulen told the district about the altercations and was informed that she should wear an apron to help protect herself. That wasn’t all as they even gave her a small piece of cardboard that was meant to deflect the student’s hand.

With another teacher on her side, both individuals confronted the district at the school board meeting. As a result, Vandermeulen and the teacher were told that their contracts were being terminated. “I have been a sexual assault victim, and for speaking out, I have been victimized again. My termination is nothing short of retaliation — teachers are being intimidated into silence and it’s happening on your watch.”

Happening in Loudoun County, Vandermeulen added, “It makes no sense to me. We wanted assistance in our classroom with the behavior. We wanted mandated reporting to happen. We want our jobs. We want to be there. We want to be with the kids. And, you know, we continued to try to escalate things to get that help. And we lost our jobs.”

Surprisingly, Vandermeulen wasn’t seeking punishment, saying, “I never could have imagined that it would be like this. All we were trying to do is to help a student that we felt was in need. And for whatever reason, they didn’t want to do that. They didn’t want to help us with that.”

Users online shared Vandermeulen’s shock, writing, “Where is their great teachers union when they need it. That’s right they’re out defending members of the school board instead of representing the teachers.  If people truly knew what went on in the public school system they would be appalled. And the problem isn’t with the teachers it’s with the higher-ups in the school administration who support and push CRT and woke liberal policies.”

Another person added, “This is the same school district/board that tried to cover up not one but two separate rapes of young girls in their schools perpetrated by an allegedly trans student. This shouldn’t surprise anyone.”
