Anyone who has served in military uniform in the US knows that the service cultures are quite different. The Army and the Marines tend to be conservative, while the Navy is less so and the Air Force is out and out liberal. So it’s no surprise that the USAF academy is denying cadets graduation because the cadets won’t sign on to mandated vaccines.

FNC: “Three Air Force Academy cadets who the force initially said would not be allowed to graduate over their refusal to get vaccinated against the coronavirus will receive their degrees this month, but they will not receive commissions.

The Academy’s board conducted a ‘standard review’ and recommended that the three seniors receive Bachelor of Science degrees, according to a press release from the school.

But the Academy also said they ‘will not be commissioned into the United States Air Force as long as they remain unvaccinated’ and that Air Force Secretary Frank Kendall will determine if the graduates will be required to ‘reimburse the United States for education costs in lieu of service.’

The Marine Corps, Navy, Army and Air Force have discharged nearly 4,000 active duty service members over their refusal to get vaccinated. Recent data from the services shows that more than 2,100 Marines, 900 sailors, 500 Army soldiers and 360 airmen have been discharged. At least 50 service members were discharged during entry-level training.”

“That has been confirmed and is petty, vindictive, disrespectful and unnecessary,” attorney Mike Rose, who represents one of the unvaccinated cadets, told The Washington Times.

The Biden administration disagrees. “To defend this Nation, we need a healthy and ready force,” Defense Secretary Loyd Austin wrote in an August memo. “After careful consultation with medical experts and military leadership, and with the support of the President, I have determined that mandatory vaccination against coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is necessary to protect the Force and defend the American people.” Gibberish. But it passes for policy these days.

The flyboys are no stranger to liberal controversy. Last year they sanctioned the teaching of CRT at their academy. A Republican congressman objected.

“Professor García’s comments on Critical Race Theory are utterly unacceptable and incompatible with the mission of our United States Military Service Academies,” GOP Rep. Mark Green said in a statement. “Disparaging the United States as a racist country should disqualify anyone from teaching at one of our country’s most prestigious institutions. Our service academies prepare young men and women to fight for our country. How can we expect anyone to fight for a country they are taught is racist?”

The professor in question, Lynne Chandler García, wrote a column published Tuesday in The Washington Post titled: “I’m a professor at a U.S. military academy. Here’s why I teach critical race theory.” Here’s the leftist gist.

“In my classes, cadets learn about the ideals embedded in this founding document. We explore the liberalist theories that promoted these ideals, and we embrace our democratic system of government. But we also acknowledge that the United States was founded on a duality: liberalism and equal rights on the one hand; inequality, inegalitarianism and second-class citizenship on the other,” García, an associate professor of political science, wrote.

“Critical race theory provides an academic framework to understand these nuances and contradictions. It helps students identify the structural racism and inequality that has been endemic in American society. And it provides methods for deconstructing oppressive beliefs, policies and practices to find solutions that will lead to justice.” There’s the Air Force for you today, replacing military service with Bolshevik indoctrination.
