MISSOURI CITY, TX – On March 8, just after Joe Biden signed an executive order that banned ALL Russian oil imports, the President was asked if he had any words for Americans currently struggling with the price of gas. Biden answered, “They’re going to go up.” He added, “Can’t do much right now… Russia is responsible.” While Biden and the Democrats continue to aid Ukraine, in America, it appears citizens are finding unique ways of saving on gas. This included thieves in Texas stealing more than 1,000 gallons of diesel fuel before anyone noticed.
The incident took place at the Fuqua Express gas station, which is owned by the Thayil family. While the family has definitely noticed the soar in gas prices, last week, Jerry Thayil was shocked that a significant amount of diesel fuel was coming up missing. Looking at how much the gas station brought in and the amount missing, Thayil noted it was around “350 gallons.”
In the video above, KHOU 11 not only released the security footage showing the thieves who did it, but they also went to the gas station and demonstrated further how easy it was for them to perform the heist.
According to the footage, using a specially designed trap door in a minivan, the thieves strategically parked over the tanks and simply pumped the gas out without a person even noticing at first.
Trying to deter the thieves, Thayil admitted, “We had locks on our fill caps. Still they were coming in and…I think they were locking it with their own locks.”
Speaking to Houston police about the heist, Thayil said it cost his family upwards of $5,000. “In this kind of job, every penny counts. We can’t afford to lose a single more gallon.”
As gas prices continue to soar and criminals becoming more strategic, even Good Morning America ran a segment on the gas station heist, warning Americans and the Biden administration of the potential troubles ahead.
