The radically liberal network CNN was hit with a crushing blow in the fourth quarter of 2021 when it learned that it has lost a whopping 73 percent of its primetime viewers.

TVNewser reported that CNN averaged 492,000 total viewers across the 24-hour day time period (total day) in the fourth quarter, putting it in sixth place on basic cable. This is down 18% from what the network averaged in quarter three of 2021 and down 67% from quarter four of 2020.

On top of that, CNN averaged just 642,000 total viewers in primetime, placing it at No. 16. This number is down 22% from quarter three ’21, and down 73% from quarter 4 of ’20.

Breitbart News reported that in contrast, Fox News only lost 21 percent of its total day viewers and 37 percent of total primetime viewers compared to quarter four of last year. At the same time, MSNBC lost 53 percent of its total day viewers and 53 percent of its total primetime viewers compared to quarter four of last year.

The complete and total collapse of CNN is even more jarring when you look at the raw numbers below:

Q4 TOTAL DAY: TOTAL VIEWERS/25-54 AGE DEMO VIEWERS

  • Fox News: 1.444 million / 237,000
  • MSNBC: 672,000 / 77,000
  • CNN: 492,000 / 103,00

Q4 PRIMETIME: TOTAL VIEWERS/25-54 AGE DEMO VIEWERS

  • Fox News: 2.366 million / 366,000
  • MSNBC: 1.163 million / 138,000
  • CNN: 642,000 / 138,000

Ouch!

Making matters even worse for both CNN and MSNBC is that in the coveted 25-54 primetime age demo, they collapsed to 27th place, while Fox News came in third place.

It seems that the American people have finally had enough of CNN’s nonsense, while Fox is as popular as ever.

“As we embark on our 20th year as the leader in cable news, the last six of which as number one in all of cable, I am incredibly proud of the unrivaled success we’ve had at FOX News Channel,” FOX News Media CEO Suzanne Scott said in a statement, according to Daily Mail.

“Not only were we the only network to grow our audience share, but we did so while changing our lineup and transforming the entire late-night television landscape in the process, ensuring our continued momentum for many years to come,” she added.

Here’s hoping CNN loses even more viewers in 2022.
