Although Christmas might be over, it appears states like Georgia got an extra little surprise when parents and kids woke up to find it had snowed. While parts of Georgia and several other states got a small dusting of snow, causing some schools and businesses to close down, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki couldn’t understand how stores and restaurants shut down when there isn’t even an inch of snow on the ground.
Having been raised in the Northeast, Psaki tried to make a joke of the situation but her tweet backfired in hilarious fashion when users pointed out the absurdity of her statement.
Jumping on Twitter, Psaki sent out the following tweet, “Growing up in the northeast I will never understand the closing of stores and restaurants when there is barely an inch of snow on the ground yet.”

Psaki might not have been making a political statement, but other Twitter users used her own words against her. “LOL – you want all businesses closed from a virus with a 99.7% recovery rate.”
Another user wrote, “Imagine closing stores and restaurants to unvaccinated people when vaccinated people can just as easily catch and transmit the virus they claimed to prevent.”
One user noted, “So… the comms plan is to have a terrible take on something other than the pandemic that’s raging, to draw attention away from all the terrible pandemic responses coming from the WH?”
And listing off some things they couldn’t understand, a Twitter user added, “Growing up in a progressive household I will never understand the closing of schools and masking of healthy kids when there is no threat to children.”
But in the end, one simply concluded, “There are any number of good reasons and the president’s spokesperson should know them. But in either case it’s perplexing that someone of her rhetorical skills would voluntarily make a negative and politically unnecessary state-level critique on this site.”
