With their priorities completely askew, DHS will start a climate change program while they completely fail at the border. Next they will start a program to teach inner city rodents to play professional lacrosse. I’m kidding, probably.
FNC: “The Department of Homeland Security has announced a “climate change professionals program” while the historic number of illegal border crossings continues to increase.
U.S. authorities detained over 1.7 million migrants in the 2021 fiscal year that ended in September – and arrests hit their highest levels ever. Officials expect illegal crossings at the southern border to hit 2 million in 2021 for the first time in history, but DHS officials announced a program to tackle the ‘growing focus on adapting to climate change and resilience.’ ”
Having solved the border crisis, Biden's DHS is moving on to climate?https://t.co/IiMbtaOBCg

“The Climate Change Professionals Program will be instrumental in helping the Department adapt to our changing climate by providing hands-on experience and guidance to young professionals interested in climate adaptation and resilience,” said Secretary Mayorkas.
“This program will develop the next generation of climate experts, improve climate literacy throughout the Department, and help us execute our Climate Action Plan to remain mission-resilient while reducing our own impacts on the environment.” That was gibberish. This is a clear attempt to distract from the mess at the border.
“The Biden Administration is living in an alternate reality,” Rep. Ashley Hinson, R-Iowa, told press in a statement. “We’ve seen multiple reports of sex criminals and known terrorists trying to cross the border and cartels are funneling lethal drugs into our country in droves. The Administration needs to focus on stopping the surge of illegal immigrants & prioritize supporting our border patrol agents.”
In related news, while DHS ponders the climate scam, human trafficking is on the increase at the border. “When you don’t take immigration enforcement on the border seriously, and you don’t take immigration enforcement seriously in the interior, human trafficking is going to expand and a lot of people are going to get away with it because there isn’t a focus on it,” former acting Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) director Thomas Homan told media on Tuesday.
“When you increase the number of people being smuggled, the increase in trafficking goes along with that, so if they’re really, really serious not just about addressing and reacting to trafficking, if they’re really serious about trying to prevent it, they’d secure our borders,” former acting Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Commissioner Mark Morgan said in an interview Wednesday. “A lot of people being smuggled, they are being trafficked at the same time, they just don’t know it until it’s too late,” Morgan continued.
“What I can tell you is the border being out of control like it is, we don’t know how many potential trafficking victims we have coming in,” Morgan said. “I can’t give you specifics, but I can tell you we’ve identified individuals who have come in, become victims of trafficking, or were victims of human trafficking when they crossed the southwest border. The fact that the administration has been doing catch and release like they have has increased the potential to get trafficking victims into the United States.”
