The 2022 Midterm elections are still 10 months away, but that doesn’t mean the massive wave of red that is predicted to sweep America hasn’t already started. Just take a look at Virginia. Once controlled by the Democrats, the liberal party tried to secure the state when they backed Terry McAuliffe during the 2021 gubernatorial election. Only garnering 48.6% of the votes, the Democrat would lose to Republican Glenn Youngkin. Not only did the Democrats lose the state, but along with Governor Youngkin came the Attorney General, Jason Miyraes, who wasted no time firing close to 30 attorneys accused of corruption and announcing major investigations.
Being both proactive and a conservative, Miyraes has come under fire recently when CNN’s Jim Acosta decided to attack the leadership and claim that Virginia had become a “Soviet-style police state.” While Acosta might have a team of writers behind him, giving the best jabs they can think of, apparently none of them thought to research Miyraes history.
In the video above, Miyares was speaking with Sean Hannity about the insult when he noted, “I think what Jim Acosta said — listen, my family fled Communist Cuba. You want to talk about what ‘Soviet-style’ looks like? It’s the opposite of freedom. My mother has distinct memories of being forced to take classes in Marxist-Leninism.”
The Attorney General also noted, “What we have said is parents matter. Listen, if you’re a parent and you want to mask your child for six, seven, eight hours a day, you absolutely have that right. That’s your individual decision. The great irony of all this, is in Soviet-style communist states like Cuba, the state diminishes parents. They say, ‘Your loyalty is to the state,’ and parents have less control. This is about parental empowerment.”
