When Ruth Bader Ginsburg died in office, rather than retire while Democrats held the Senate, she let Donald Trump choose her replacement. The lesson of a wasted opportunity was not lost on the Left and Democrats.
So since Joe Biden took office the pressure on Stephen Breyer to retire has been enormous. DC sources say people have come up to the justice at Georgetown social occasions and told him to his face to retire. It was his duty to progressives, they reportedly said. Any concept of judicial independence and objectivity apparently never crossed their minds.
Now through this bullying, an act Democrats publicly deplore and privately engage in, the Left got their wish. Breyer is on a slow boat off the court. This will embolden the Left from now until January of next year, when they will likely lose the Congress. Until then, return your political trays to the upright position. It’s gonna get bumpy.

FNC: “News of Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer’s intention to retire comes after months of pressure from the left to hang up his robe in time for President Biden to name his replacement.
Breyer also faced pressure from legal scholars, including a letter that was signed by 18 academics last year calling on him to step aside. Erwin Chemerinsky, the dean of the University of California at Berkeley School of Law, penned his own op-ed pleading for Breyer to announce his retirement.”
“Breyer shouldn’t even wait for the 2022 midterms to retire,” Chemerinsky said last year in the Washington Post. “With a 50-50 Senate, anything is possible: Something could happen to a Democratic senator in a state with a Republican governor, who would then pick the replacement and throw the majority back to Republicans.”
“There’s no question that Justice Breyer, for whom I have great respect, should retire at the end of this term,” Rep. Mondaire Jones, D-N.Y., said last spring. “My goodness, have we not learned our lesson?”
“I believe Representative Jones has a point, and we have had very difficult experiences with making the opposite mistake,” Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., said on the subject.
Left wing groups such as Black Lives Matter and Women’s March joined in the chorus for Breyer to retire. The pressure was on. “Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer should immediately announce his intent to retire from the bench,” said an ad paid for by the groups. “If Breyer were replaced by an additional ultra-conservative justice, an even further-right Supreme Court would leave our democracy and the rights of marginalized communities at even greater risk. For the good of the country, now is the time to step aside.” Nope. He stepped aside under left wing pressure and intimidation. Such a man is Stephen Breyer.

The Demonrats know perfectly well that come Nov. they are going to lose control of both Houses of Congress and Biden becomes a lame duck. Hence the pressure on Breyer. Now the game becomes one of how long the Republicans can delay and or tie up Biden with his numerous screw ups and or expose his crimes that will neuter his entire administration.
And how much pressure are swamp democrats putting on other justices to make decisions that are contrary to the constitution? I suspect more than Americans think.
