Spending the first week of December traveling, President Joe Biden decided to visit Minnesota to promote his newly-signed infrastructure bill.
With no other plans than trying to improve his drowning approval ratings, some were wondering if the President was going to visit Waukesha, Wisconsin, since it was the scene of a tragic act of aggression when a man drove his SUV through a Christmas parade, killing six and injuring over 60 more.
But while the town is hurting, apparently, President Biden is just too busy to give them any of his time.
On Monday, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki fired off a list of reasons why President Biden wasn’t going to visit the town. While the video below shows Psaki giving reason after reason, she mainly said, “Obviously, any President going to visit a community requires a lot of assets, requires taking their resources, and it’s not something that I have a trip previewed at this plan- point in time.”
Psaki was sure to add, “Certainly, our hearts are with the community as they’ve gone through such a difficult time.”
It should be noted that since the heinous attack, President Biden spent five days on vacation with his family in Massachusetts before returning to the White House on Sunday.
As for his current travels to Minnesota, Psaki said, “This is also, of course, a part of our ongoing effort to go out there and tell the American people how this bill — this law, I should say, will benefit them.”
While President Biden might not have enough time to visit Waukesha, the traveling time between Minnesota and Waukesha was less than 90 minutes. The distance came up to a little over 70 miles. Still, with a motorcade at his disposal, a short trip to grieving families is just too much.
What is even more interesting is how Biden traveled to Atlanta when eight people were killed at spas. He also directed the flags to be lowered to half-mast, saying, “Our silence is complicity. We cannot be complicit. We have to speak out. We have to act.”
