NEW YORK CITY, NY – With the trial of known Jeffrey Epstein associate Ghislaine Maxwell currently ongoing, there is certainly no shortage of news outlets trying to squeeze a juicy headline out of the case.

However, CNCB put forth an extremely misleading article title on December 1st that implied former President Trump had engaged in inappropriate conduct with a minor victim introduced by Epstein years earlier.

The CNBC article was written by Dan Mangan and Tom Winter was titled “Ghislaine Maxwell trial: Sex crimes accuser testifies Jeffrey Epstein took her to meet Trump when she was 14.” The title alone is clearly trying to suggest that a victim testified about being abused by the former president.

Furthermore, CNBC shared the article on Twitter, captioning the article in a similar fashion. The caption read, “An accuser testifying at Ghislaine Maxwell’s trial says late sex criminal Jeffrey Epstein took her to meet Donald Trump at Mar-a-Lago when she was 14.”

However, the CNBC article noted the victim, identified only as “Jane” due to her using the pseudonym during the court proceedings, never stated that Trump acted inappropriately.

Instead, the victim merely mentioned she met Trump in the literal sense in Florida when she was 14 after Epstein had brought her to Mar-a-Lago, per the CNBC report.

“A woman who says she was sexually abused by late sex criminal and financier Jeffrey Epstein and British socialite Ghislaine Maxwell testified Wednesday that Epstein took her to meet Donald Trump at his Florida club when she was 14 years old,” the article said. “The woman, in testimony at Maxwell’s federal sex crimes trial, did not allege any improper conduct by Trump when she met him at his Mar-a-Lago resort.”

Also, in another hardly shocking turn of events regarding this same testimony, NBC News pulled the same exact style of headline with “Jeffrey Epstein introduced me to Trump at 14, Ghislaine Maxwell accuser says.”

And like clockwork, NBC News also took to Twitter to share an equally misleading caption to secure clicks and shares by oblivious individuals.

With headlines and journalistic practices like this, it’s no wonder that trust in the legacy/mainstream media continues to plummet, which Red Voice Media reported on back in late October. The fact is that the Maxwell trial is solely about Maxwell – yet the mainstream media just can’t help but see if they can somehow get a headline denigrating former President Trump out of the matter.
