Conservative Voters Mistrust Election Systems…But Must Still Vote

This tweener (between national and mid-term) election is over, so center and right-leaning people can learn some important lessons. This is true especially from Virginia, but also from New Jersey, which was very nearly an upset. Putting aside what the left laughably calls the “Big Lie,” there is another important aspect to the election equation: Republican voter turnout.

Now, this may seem like a big, duh, but there are several factors keeping right-leaning voters from voting. And one big factor is the Democrats have given them every reason to distrust many states’ election systems.

Just the fact the collective left screams about voter fraud and election scams when they lose but assert the cleanest election in the history of history when they win gives credence to the right’s reticence when voting. The Hill reported a full 50 percent of Republican voters believe their votes won’t be counted accurately. Too many of those voters have stopped voting.

Basically, right-leaning voters don’t trust elections, so it appears they’re not voting in the numbers they should be. This is especially true for voters in states such as Washington where even many liberals no longer refute that the Democrats stole the 2004 gubernatorial election (they just kind of smirk). John Fund wrote about King County’s (Seattle) election meddling in his book Stealing Elections: How Voter Fraud Threatens Our Democracy.

Hans von Spakovsky, at Heritage.org, once quoted The Boston Globe’s David Nyhan who wrote, “Where Chairman Mao believed that all power comes from the barrel of the gun, the late Mayor Richard J. Daley believed that all power comes from the barrel into which precinct totals have been tossed.”

Where I live, in Washington State, I haven’t trusted the election process for nearly two decades now, especially after the state went to an all-mail-in ballot. Fair election advocates around the world have long viewed mail-in ballots as a recipe for tainted elections. However, while it’s critically important to keep pushing for election integrity laws, right-leaning voters must continue to vote despite their distrust.

For example, in my adopted state, Washington. I’ve openly said I didn’t trust the last governor’s election, 2020, where incumbent, cop-firing dictator Jay “vaccine/mask mandate” Inslee reportedly won re-election against Republican Loren Culp. Culp is currently running for a seat in the U.S. Congress.

Like Joe Biden, Inslee barely campaigned, visible public support such as bumper stickers and yard signs were scant compared with that for Culp, yet, he won and, the strange thing was, he seemed oddly confident the result was never in question. Washington State government still refuses to conduct an audit of its voting systems. Why?

However, aside from an untrustworthy election process, the state’s Republican establishment did not embrace Culp (an outsider), Washington Secretary of State Kim Wyman didn’t seem to care much about Republican confidence in voting in the leftist-run state. Further proof of this disconnect came with the anti-Trumper’s recent acceptance of a Joe Biden nomination for a place in his administration—of all places—overseeing voter integrity nationally.

The last item, though, is voter participation. I recall reading recently that Democrat turnout in Washington exceeded Republicans by some 30 percent. Objectively, that could cast doubt on whether a Republican lost to a shifty vote or to a lack of their Party’s voters casting votes. Although, a combination is likely, where shaky elections lead to a future lack of participation.

But we can make cheating more difficult or even impossible by overwhelming the ballot boxes with the votes of people who’ve been understandably reluctant to vote. The Daily Caller just reported, “for the first time in history,” Gov. Ron DeSantis announced, “the number of registered Florida Republicans has exceeded that of the state’s registered Democrats….”

That wipes out the “nearly 700,000 more Democrat than Republicans in Florida in 2008…” and cancels the remaining gap of 24,000 that existed just this past September.

So, work hard to clean up the election systems in the United States, yes. But also right-leaning voters need to get their votes in by mail or ballot. Remember, not only did the Republicans just sweep the blue state of Virginia and nearly oust another Covid dictator, Phil Murphy, in New Jersey, but voters in radical leftist, cobalt blue Seattle elected a Republican for city attorney—Seattle!
