Despite rumors that Colorado Governor Jared Polis (D) signed an executive order this week that allows hospitals to turn away those who are unvaccinated against COVID-19, the order proved online commentary to be sensationalized and untrue.

The actual order states that hospitals could turn individuals away if the hospital was at capacity, but made no mention of turning people away based on their vaccination status.  While concerned citizens across the country have heard mention of possible issues at hospitals over an individual’s vaccination status, both the governor’s office and a hospital association in Colorado have denied that such an order exists.
