It is inherently clear by just skimming through the news that anything associated with the Biden administration is a bad decision. The Southern border, the withdrawal in Afghanistan, COVID-19 – it is one disaster after the next. And to top it all off, gas prices are at a record high with no signs of slowing down. While Democrats scramble to save their political power gained in the 2020 election, it seems the party isn’t too worried about the current state of gas prices or how Americans are struggling to fill up their tanks.
On Sunday, Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm was speaking with CNN when instead of assuring Americans the administration was working to solve the rising gas prices, she instead revealed many families would be paying more to heat their homes this winter. And if that wasn’t already bad, she added that the Biden administration hopes that gas doesn’t exceed $4 a gallon.
The host, Dana Bash asked, “So, according to AAA, the national average of gas prices is now $3.42 a gallon. Bank of America is predicting crude oil prices could soar another 50 percent by next June. Could the average gas price in America be $4 a gallon in the United States soon?”
Granholm responded, “Well, we certainly hope not. As I say, the Energy Information Agency is going to put out their forecast this week.” She did add, “The president is all over this.”
Knowing the rise in gas prices could affect families this winter, Bash also inquired, “Should Americans in what will likely be a cold winter — most of them are — expect to pay higher prices for heating their homes?”
Again, as if knowing the Biden administration is set to fail, Granholm said, “Yeah, this is going to happen. It will be — it will be more expensive this year than last year. We are in a slightly beneficial position, certainly relative to Europe, because their chokehold of natural gas is very significant.”
