A father from Long Island, New York, just had his visitation rights for his toddler daughter suspended by a Manhattan judge unless he gets vaccinated or submits to weekly COVID-19 testing. The judge issued this ruling even though the father has already contracted COVID-19.

“Here, in-person parental access by the defendant is not in the child’s best interests, and there are exceptional circumstances that support its suspension,” wrote Justice Matthew Cooper. He is presiding over a case involving the father’s divorce and custody dispute over his 3-year-old daughter, according to The Epoch Times.

Judge Cooper added that the “dangers of voluntarily remaining unvaccinated during access with a child while the COVID-19 virus remains a threat to children’s health and safety cannot be understated.” The names of the father, mother, and child, in this case, were not publicly revealed.

Lloyd Rosen, who is an attorney representing the father, told the New York Post last week that his client doesn’t need to get the vaccine because he has natural immunity from the virus for previously having it.

“My client is not a conspiracy theorist,” Rosen said at the time. “He has concerns about the vaccine. He’s heard about side effects. He once had a bad reaction to a flu vaccine.”

“This judge must feel that 80 million Americans who aren’t vaccinated are placing their children at imminent risk of harm and, therefore, the courts should intervene and remove those children from their parents,” Rosen continued. “This is an absurd position to take.”

In contrast, the mother’s lawyer Evan Schein praised the judge for issuing this ruling.

“It’s an incredibly important one that highlights the extraordinary times we are living in and reinforces that a child’s best interests are paramount,” Schein said.

Cooper claimed in his ruling that getting vaccinated is now a requirement to “participate meaningfully in everyday society” and pointed to controversial vaccine mandates for various professions.

“Unfortunately, and to my mind, incomprehensibly, a sizable minority, seizing upon misinformation, conspiracy theories, and muddled notions of ‘individual liberty,’ have refused all entreaties to be vaccinated,” the judge argued.

Rosen said that the father has not yet decided if he plans to appeal this ruling. This comes as the left is trying to strip as many people of their individual freedoms as possible by forcing them to get vaccinated. If the left gets their way, we can all expect plenty more rulings like this one.
