WASHINGTON, DC – A letter signed by both Republicans and Democrats is demanding answers regarding unnerving experiments reportedly being conducted on beagles from the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and President Biden’s chief medical adviser – Anthony Fauci.

The White Coat Waste Project, the first to point out that American taxpayers were funding the contentious Wuhan Institute of Virology, has now turned its attention to Anthony Fauci for infecting dozens of beagles with disease-causing parasites to test an experimental drug on them.

House members, the majority of which are Republicans, want Fauci to respond to claims made by the White Coat Waste Project, which allege that he was involved in funneling taxpayer dollars to torture animals in the name of scientific experimentation.

According to White Coat Waste, 44 beagle puppies were exploited in a Tunisia, North Africa, laboratory, with some of the dogs’ vocal cords removed – a horrid practice known as “debarking” – supposedly so scientists could work without being distracted by the dogs’ barks and yelps.

Speaking with Changing America, White Coat Waste said the following regarding the alleged experimentation:

“Our investigators show that Fauci’s NIH division shipped part of a $375,800 grant to a lab in Tunisia to drug beagles and lock their heads in mesh cages filled with hungry sandflies so that the insects could eat them alive.

They also locked beagles alone in cages in the desert overnight for nine consecutive nights to use them as bait to attract infectious sand flies.”

Republican Rep. Nancy Mace wrote a letter to the National Institutes of Health on October 21st demanding answers about the aforementioned, along with 23 other Republican and Democrat members of the House signing the letter:

“We write with grave concerns about reports of costly, cruel, and unnecessary taxpayer-funded experiments on dogs commissioned by National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.”

The letter went on to point out that between the findings from White Coat Waste, in concurrence with other media reports, it was found that “from October 2018 until February 2019, NIAID spent $1.68 million in taxpayer funds on drug tests involving 44 beagle puppies.”

Contained within the letter were harsh objections regarding the “force-feeding the puppies an experimental drug for several weeks, before killing and dissecting them,” as well as the debarking practice:

“Of particular concern is the fact that the invoice to NIAID included a line item for ‘cordectomy.’ As you are likely aware, a cordectomy, also known as ‘devocalization,’ involves slitting a dog’s vocal cords in order to prevent them from barking, howling, or crying.

This cruel procedure – which is opposed with rare exceptions by the American Veterinary Medical Association, the American Animal Hospital Association, and others – seems to have been performed so that experimenters would not have to listen to the pained cries of the beagle puppies. This is a reprehensible misuse of taxpayer funds.”
