Colorado Springs, CO – A middle school teacher decided it was her duty to ensure that a 6th grader was compliant with the mask mandate by taping the child’s mask to her face using masking tape.

Rylee M shortly texted her mother after the “child abuse” situation occurred to let her know how the whole ordeal had transpired. Unfortunately, Rylee was not alone in this situation because the teacher had done the same to another student.

“It’s developing some sort of mentality in our children where that kind of restraint over your face is normal. Your face is you. That is how people know you, they are just doubling down on hiding you and not letting you breathe, and it just conformity to the extreme.” – Rylee’s mom.

An additional parent came forward as well, expressing concerns that teachers are taking things too far.

“My daughter said the teachers were wearing the masking tape around their wrists like bracelets, and whenever someone’s mask would fall down, they would tape them. It’s sad that our world is coming to this, and teachers would think it is ok.” – Tori Skeldum

It’s sad to see what has happened to our schools across the country. Kids are forced to wear masks, distance themselves from their friends, and in California, they are forced to eat lunch outside in the rain. The aspects of school that kids used to enjoy have been taken from them, and as a result, the emotional consequences are devastating.
