During the handoff between their CNN shows on Tuesday night, hosts Don Lemon and Chris Cuomo ranted against NBA star Kyrie Irving for continuing to be unvaccinated against COVID-19.
The two liberal television personalities agreed that while Irving being unvaccinated is his own personal choice. He should “suffer the consequences” of not doing what was good for the “collective goal” of his team, the Brooklyn Nets. This came after the Nets banned Irving from participating in any team activities until he relents and gets the shot.
“Everyone has a choice. If he doesn’t want to do it, fine. Then he doesn’t have to do it, but one then must suffer the consequences of not doing it,” Lemon began. “I think in the largest scope of all of this, it is all about America. Right? Humanity. We’re all one team, humanity. We’re supposed to be looking out for each other as a team, and as a team, you don’t just look out for what is just good for you.”
“You have to look out at what’s good for the whole, which is a team, which is America, which is humanity, which is Kyrie Irving’s team,” he added. “He can’t say this is my personal thing and still be a part of that team because that’s not what is good for the collective goal of the team.”
Cuomo agreed with Lemon, going on to say that he does not support reports that Irving was choosing not to take the vaccine as a protest over workers losing their jobs for not complying with workplace vaccination mandates. Both Cuomo and Lemon agreed that if Irving was not anti-vaccination, even if he decides not to get the shot himself, he should still call for other workers to do so.
“You have the right to do something, doesn’t mean it’s right the way you’re doing it. And that has just been lost in this perverse sense of prerogative that hey, I have the freedom — you have the freedom to walk into traffic. You know, we don’t suggest you do it,” Cuomo said.
“We need to have the moral rectitude in our leaders that we demand of ourselves as Christians in our communities,” he continued. “So you’re not going to do something science tells you to do to keep yourself and others safe in your community out of some perverse sense of freedom just because you don’t have to?”
“Chris, here is the whole point. You do have the freedom not to — so then don’t do it. But then you cannot expect to do what everyone else does. You have the freedom. And that’s what they’re telling him,” Lemon chimed in to add. “You’ve got the freedom. We won’t cancel you or fire you, but you’re going to be benched.”
The hosts then said it was “hypocritical” for people standing up for Irving not to have stood up for Colin Kaepernick in the past as he protested against racial injustice in the NFL. Check out this full segment below.

Coming from you, that’s a sick joke.
Your Democratic piety is so inspiring!
Your “science” is perverse!
Hypocrisy is a specialty of you & your party, isn’t it?
Pos hypocrites!
How about Donlemoan’s perverse sense of thinking he can stick his hand down the pants of any other man?
“peverse” ? Don using this word is rich.
He’s a hell of a lot more intelligent than you Lemon. You are nobody.
Cigarette BUTT
His show should be called “Keeping Up Appearances” as he is some much like Hyacinth Bucket from the British version of that show. She too pronounced her last name contrary to how it was spelled.
I don’t need to read the article, the headline suffices. Donny, baby, it is YOU with the perverse sense of freedom!
Lemon suffers from constipation of thought and diarrhea of the mouth. Nothing of consequence has issued from his addled brain for all the time he insinuated himself into the public limelight. Besides, who cares what this guy thinks or says. He is merely an instigator whose ego thrives by being a showboat.
Anything these corrupt individuals say is absolute garbage!
