While it is not breaking news that many Americans are hesitant when it comes to getting the COVID-19 vaccine, it appears that even the military is starting to push back when it comes to being forced to get a vaccine that isn’t fully understood yet.

For months now, there have been numerous videos and articles showing the awful side effects adults and teens are reporting after getting the vaccine. On more than one occasion, people have been healthy, only to be transported to the hospital days after the jab. And while Americans continue to question, a new report revealed that 12,000 Air Force personnel have refused to be vaccinated before the deadline.

The original mandate, which was set by the Pentagon, ended on Tuesday, which caused concern for many military leaders as thousands of Air Force members had declined to receive the vaccine.

Released on Thursday, the report said, “The vast majority of active-duty airmen, 96.4%, are at least partially vaccinated, according to data from the Air Force. But officials have warned that, barring an approved medical or religious exemption, those who defy lawful orders to be fully immunized are subject to punishment, including possible dismissal from the service or they could be charged in the military justice system.”

The report added, “The challenge now confronting Air Force leaders – how to address potential large-scale dissent in the face of a top health priority that has been deeply politicized – is a bellwether for the dilemma that’s in store across the military’s other services, which have staggered compliance deadlines ranging from the end of November to the middle of next summer and in some cases have experienced far greater resistance to President Joe Biden’s mandate.”

Back in August, several top members of the U.S. military expressed their concerns about the vaccine mandate. One member of the Air Force said, “We get a lot of pressure from our commanders … and they tell you these sob stories to heavily persuade you, and it’s borderline harassment.”

Although the Air Force might be having a difficult time getting members vaccinated, the Marine Corps announced any Marine refusing to get vaccinated would be kicked out.

“Marines refusing the COVID-19 vaccination, absent an approved administrative or medical exemption, religious accommodation, or pending appeal shall be processed for administrative separation [in accordance with] this MARADMIN and supporting references,” a statement said. “General Court-Martial Convening Authorities (GCMCA) retain authority to take any additional adverse administrative or disciplinary action they deem appropriate.”
