Yesterday, we reported that South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem (R) had denied the allegations that she had engaged in a sexual affair with Corey Lewandowski, a former advisor to Donald Trump. Now, Noem has cut all ties to Lewandowski, seemingly trying to distance herself from him even further.

“Corey was always a volunteer, never paid a dime (campaign or official). He will not be advising the Governor in regard to the campaign or official office,” Noem spokesman Ian Fury told Fox News.

Lewandowski had been advising Noem for over a year, traveling with her around the country last fall as she campaigned for Trump. He’s continued traveling with her this year to events across the nation, as well as she began building her 2022 reelection campaign. During that time, Lewandowski introduced her to numerous Republican donors and other rainmakers at GOP gatherings.

Noem cut ties with Lewandowski one day after she denied having an affair with him.

“These rumors are total garbage and a disgusting lie,” she tweeted on Wednesday. “These old, tired attacks on conservative women are based on a falsehood that we can’t achieve anything without a man’s help.”

“I love Bryon,” Noem added, referring to her husband of nearly-30 years. “I’m proud of the God-fearing family we’ve raised together. Now I’m getting back to work.”

Trump fired Lewandowski on Wednesday after he was accused of sexually inappropriate touching by Republican donor Trashelle Odom, who said he did this at a recent charity event in Las Vegas.

“He repeatedly touched me inappropriately, said vile and disgusting things to me, stalked me, and made me feel violated and fearful,” she alleged.

Trump fired Lewandowski hours later.

“Pam Bondi, the very talented and honorable frmr AG of FL, has our complete faith and confidence in taking over MAGA Action. Corey Lewandowski will be going on to other endeavors, and we very much want to thank him for his service. He will no longer be associated with Trump World,” tweeted Trump spokesman Taylor Budowich.

Nebraska gubernatorial candidate Charles Herbster also has cut ties with Lewandowski this week. He released a statement today, saying that Lewandowski “has been one of my senior campaign advisors as I run for governor of the state of Nebraska” and adding that “I’ve asked Corey to step back from this role.”

The candidate also said that he had known Lewandowski “since 2015 when I was an early and steadfast supporter of Donald J. Trump for President” and said that “Corey and his family will remain in my prayers.”

Lewandowski himself has been noticeably quiet this week.
