TAPACHULA, MEXICO – As the border crisis with Mexico heats up, an estimated 80,000 more Haitian and other natives are set to arrive in the United States this month.

This, from a Pueblo Sin Fronteras (People Without Borders) activist, Irineo Mujica, who has pledged to lead the group into the US. Mujica is a US citizen.

The group is said to be planning departure into the US around October 25.

During an interview, translated by Border Report, Mujica stated that the group is coming “with or without papers,” meaning with or without clearance from Mexico, and that they are “ready for war.” Exactly what he meant by “war” was unclear.

“We are leaving in 20 days,” Mujica said Tuesday. “We prefer to march with papers…And this time, with papers or without papers, we are ready for war. If the National Guard comes and they are cowardly enough to beat women and children, let them prepare because God’s hand is with us.”

Advocates and migrants have been holding protests and rallies in attempt to get the immigrants humanitarian visas allowing them to either stay in Mexico or receive free transit north.

Mujica sought the assistance of federal courts in Chiapas, hoping to force the National Migration Institute (INM) and the National Refugee Commission to grant the asylum or transit. While they wouldn’t guarantee asylum, the courts said they would protect the migrants from deportation, according to the activists.

However, the INM issued a press release, saying no Haitians have been granted these protections. Even if they had, the release said, that doesn’t guarantee them free transit. The agency said, “The INM makes this information available so that people who are migrants aren’t given erroneous information, false documents or become victims of extortion.”

The Center for Human Dignity said that the Haitians are living in “squalor,” and that “local merchants and government officials are being hostile to” the illegal immigrants.

Many reports on social media say that locals are attempting to offer them jobs when they beg, but they’re declining, asking only for money or food.

This surge of illegals will be coming on the heels of 12,000 Haitian illegals crossing the border at Del Rio.
