Socialist Democrat Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) has found herself the subject of a second ethics complaint regarding her recent appearance at the Met Gala in a “tax the rich” dress.

The National Legal and Policy Center (NLPC) filed the complaint alleging that the New York Democrat improperly accepted tickets to the event for her and her boyfriend.

The group contends that AOC sat at a sponsored table during the event, something reportedly valued at up to $300,000.

“It is the table sponsor who is gifting or underwriting a coveted seat to AOC at the Gala,” they write.

“And if … the table where AOC sat was one paid for by one of [the] corporations attending the event, such as Instagram or Facebook, AOC has received a prohibited gift from the corporation that also lobbies Congress.”

AOC’s ‘Tax the Rich’ Met Gala Dress An Ethics Violation?

Aside from the seats and/or ticket arrangement, the group contends that AOC’s “tax the rich” dress itself violates an improper acceptance of a gift for the congresswoman.

“If AOC had not been a Member, she would not have been invited to the Gala,” the complaint reads, “and even if she would have been invited as a private citizen, the designer would not have made a special dress for her to wear at the event.”

The complaint goes on to suggest that AOC may have accepted other improper gifts during the course of the night including such things as limousine service or hair and makeup services.

One does have to wonder how a congresswoman who once complained she doesn’t get paid enough to even afford an apartment could suddenly swing an event that required such lavish items to attend.

The Second Complaint

The complaint filed by the NLPC Thursday was the second this week regarding the “tax the rich” Met Gala event.

The American Accountability Foundation (AAF) earlier filed an ethics violation grievance saying if Ocasio-Cortez may have accepted a lavish gift of admission to the event “without having a permissible exemption.”

What makes their complaint unique is that they also suggest that if AOC actually purchased a ticket to the event – something the Associated Press reports goes for a minimum of $30,000 each – using campaign funds, she also broke Federal Election Commission rules.

Are these complaints going to amount to anything? Likely not.

AOC’s “tax the rich” stunt made her the subject of widespread mockery – wearing such a lavish gown to an uber-lavish event for the elites with a socialist message.

AOC defended the stunt saying it allowed her to convey a message on “what it means to be working-class women of color at the Met.”

Video of her rubbing elbows with the super-elite class of New York City, maskless, while servants held the train of her exotic gown said anything but a working-class woman.

Ocasio Antoinette, perhaps?
