NEW YORK – Many New Yorkers and onlookers nationwide thought that things would get better when former Governor Andrew Cuomo was forced out of office over sexual harassment allegations.

Then, they got Kathy Hochul.

Hochul this week called for Facebook to censor what she deems “misinformation” surrounding abortion, and specifically Texas’ heartbeat abortion regulations that passed this month.

Included in her letter asking Facebook to censor information were COVID-19, vaccines, and voting rights.

“Each day, posts are liked and shared on your site that make false claims about abortion procedures and reproductive health legislation,” Hochul said.

“An analysis of Facebook engagement between January 1 and March 20, 2019, found that four of the top 10 stories receiving the most engagement on the platform were articles about the New York State Reproductive Health Act from anti-choice news sources that represent the bill.”

Hochul continued, “With the recent abortion ban in Texas and associated widespread interest, I am increasingly concerned that more and more of these posts will be created and shared across Facebook. At a time when women in Texas and other states with restrictive laws are looking for guidance, these posts can make women in need of abortion care feel unsafe and alone.”

She claimed that the “misinformation” put out about abortion is “clearly” meant to “sow fear, confusion, and shame, and to advance an agenda to control women’s bodies.”

Meanwhile, Hochul has announced her plan to affirm abortion rights in the State of New York.

During that speech, she condemned Texas’ recent restrictions and said, “This plan will affirm that in our state, and leaders like Senator Gillibrand will fight on a national level. To the women of Texas, I want to say I am with you. Lady Liberty is here to welcome you with open arms.”

She closed the letter boasting that her state is leading the way on killing human babies, saying, “I am proud that New York is leading the fight to ensure that every woman and birthing person has access to abortion care.”
