On Monday, MSNBC anchor Stephanie Ruhle said that adults who won’t get the vaccine could just work from home and homeschool their children.

During her interview with Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo, Ruhle said that no one was being “forced” to get vaccinated – they would, presumably, just be shut-ins unable to participate in society.

Ruhle: ‘There Has Always Been A Choice’

President Biden announced a federal mask mandate last week vaccine saying this decision for individuals was “not about freedom or personal choice.”

His mandate would require all federal employees, and all employees at firms with more than 100 employees, to be vaccinated or undergo regular testing.

“The White House has made its goal very clear,” Ruhle said. “They want this country vaccinated, and they’re not forcing people to do it.”

“Now, I’ve called these mandates a work-around, which is not a negative term,” Ruhle continued. “It is a way to achieve a goal without violating anything, without forcing anything on anyone. A way to get a huge amount of people vaccinated legally.”

Ruhle then spoke directly about those who choose not to vaccinate.

“I’m puzzled by these people who continue to say they’re forced to get vaccinated here,” Ruhle said. “There’s always been a choice.”

What are those choices? Ruhle explained, “If you do not want to get vaccinated, you can work from home, you can home school your children, you can shop online.”

Ruhle: “So Where Is This Coming From, People Saying, ‘I’m Now Being Forced To Be Vaccinated?'”

Ruhle failed to mention that many Americans do not have these options because they can’t afford them.

The MSNBC host then wondered why anyone would consider Biden’s mandate, a mandate.

Ruhle said, “So where is this coming from, people saying, ‘I’m now being forced to be vaccinated?’ We never forced vaccinations on kids in school. If you didn’t want to vaccinate your kids, you could homeschool them, and people have done it for years.”
