The former First Lady Melania Trump is firing back this week in typical Trump fashion after her former press secretary Stephanie Grisham wrote an explosive tell-all book about her.

Grisham claimed in her upcoming book “I’ll Take Your Questions Now: What I Saw in The Trump White House” that the then-first lady refused to call for peace during the January 6 Capitol riot. She alleged that she texted Melania at 1:25 p.m. that day asking, “Do you want to tweet that peaceful protests are the right of every American, but there is no place for lawlessness and violence?”

“No,” Melania allegedly responded one minute later.

Melania has since fired back at Grisham in a statement given to Politico by her office.

“The intent behind this book is obvious,” her statement said. “It is an attempt to redeem herself after a poor performance as press secretary, failed personal relationships, and unprofessional behavior in the White House. Through mistruth and betrayal, she seeks to gain relevance and money at the expense of Mrs. Trump.”

This comes after MSNBC host Joy Reid celebrated Melania not being invited to the Met gala last night by interviewing the ex-first lady’s former friend, liberal New York City socialite Stephanie Winston Wolkoff

“This is the kind of thing that I think the right would have wanted to see a Melania Trump at, right?” Reid asked, according to Fox News. “They think of her, despite all of the various inconsistencies in her stories, as being this phenomenal First Lady. I don’t know why. She never did anything for anyone. But this is the kind of thing, she ain’t getting into that, either, right? I mean, that ain’t happening! I mean, there’s no reason to have her there.”

“No, and again, the way that Anna Wintour orchestrates the costume institute benefit evening is about bringing the right people together for the right conversations to do the right thing. And it’s not just about showing up and putting a beautiful smile on your face and looking beautifully dressed,” said Wolkoff, who was friends with Melania for years before betraying her and writing a tell-all book about her.

“That is all that Melania brings to the table, and it’s unfortunate because the world needed a First Lady. The world needed for her to step up, say something, do something, and she didn’t,” she added. “And so, tonight’s representation on the red carpet wouldn’t signify anything that Melania stands for. So, she wouldn’t be invited. And, you know, no expectations for her there.”

“During her time as First Lady, Melania talked about the shameful way that she was treated by the media. “I could say I’m the most bullied person on the world,” she said in an October 2018 interview. “One of them. If you really see what people saying about me.”

It’s sad that months after leaving the White House, Melania continues to be raked over the coals by the press and betrayed by those closest to her, who sell her down the river just to garner fame and fortune for themselves. As per usual, Melania remains the epitome of class in the face of these relentless below-the-belt attacks.

The left can attack Melania as much as they want to, but it will never change the fact that she was an incredible First Lady who represented our country with grace and class. We miss having her in the White House dearly.
