Former White House Press Secretary Stephanie Grisham, best known for rarely holding press conferences, is now talking – a lot – in a new tell-all book entitled, “I’ll Take Your Questions Now: What I Saw In The Trump White House.”

A preview obtained by Politico shows the book attempt to portray the former First Lady as a detached elitist.

Already though, Melania has fired back in a way only the Trumps know how.

A Few of The Catty Excerpts

Like other former staffers from the Trump era, it appears Stephanie Grisham claimed to be a Trump loyalist, but that seems to have evaporated. Unusual for those who have turned on Trump though, is that Grisham was with Team Trump beginning in 2015.

One supposedly “juicy” story is that on the afternoon of January 6, as rioters were entering the Capitol building, then-Chief of Staff to the First Lady Grisham texted Melania, asking if she would would like Grisham to tweet, “peaceful protests are the right of every American, but there is no place for lawlessness and violence?”

Grisham says that about a minute later, Melania simply replied “no.”

Grisham adds that the White House was getting ready for a photo shoot of a rug the First Lady had recently picked out. The implication being that the First Lady’s priorities were a bit askew.

On several other occasions after the election, Grisham asked Trump if she should set up a meeting with incoming First Lady Jill Biden, a tradition for First Ladies when there is a transition of power. She says Melania’s only response was that they should “see what the West Wing does.”

The supposition of Grisham was that Melania agreed with her husband in the belief that the election was fraudulent.

Whether the rest of the book gets juicier, or if Politico only chose to publish the most anti-Trump bits remains to be seen.

Melania Responds

As might be expected, the response from Melania Trump shows she learned from the best.

A statement put out by her office said in part:

“The intent behind this book is obvious. It is an attempt to redeem herself after a poor performance as press secretary, failed personal relationships, and unprofessional behavior in the White House. Through mistruth and betrayal, she seeks to gain relevance and money at the expense of Mrs. Trump.”

There is speculation that the “failed personal relationships” reference refers to Grisham’s relationship with former Trump aide Max Miller. According to a Politico report from July, several sources said the relationship ended when Miller allegedly pushed Grisham up against a wall in his apartment and slapped her after she accused Miller of cheating on her.

Miller has denied the allegations.

Like any wife and mother, Melania Trump has fiercely defended her husband and their son Barron in the past.

She says of 15-year old Barron that he is a “very strong-minded, very special boy.” She adds that, “He is independent and opinionated and knows exactly what he wants.”

Politico also claims that a “source” says that Grisham, “…has secrets about Trump that even the First lady doesn’t know. Secrets that he doesn’t want her to know. They will be in this book.”
