DeSantis Drops Bomb About Potential 2024 Presidential Run As Trump Steps Things Up

I really don't know what to say to those rumors...

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) has finally broken his silence to address rumors that he is planning to run for president in 2024 amidst reports that former President Donald Trump is stepping up his efforts to run again.

Fans of DeSantis will be disappointed to see that the bomb that he dropped about a potential 2024 run for himself is that reports that he is planning to throw his hat in the race are “nonsense.”

“All the speculation about me is purely manufactured,” DeSantis said during a press conference on Tuesday, according to Daily Mail. “I just do my job. You know, we work hard. Obviously, our state has led on a lot of things, including this, and now other states are copying us. But that’s what it’s really all about, just helping folks here.”

“I hear all this stuff, and honestly, it’s nonsense. So, you know, I really don’t know what to say to those rumors,” he added.

This comes one week after former campaign spokesman Jason Miller said that a presidential run by Trump in 2024 is a near certainty.

“I would say somewhere between 99 and 100 percent. I think he is definitely running in 2024,” Miller said. “I had a good conversation with him last night. I’m going to go see him in another couple of days here.”

Trump has even indicated in the past that he would consider DeSantis as a running mate.

“I would certainly consider Ron,” Trump told Fox Business host Stuart Varney back in June. “I was at the beginning of Ron, I was the first one to endorse him when he came out as a congressman that a lot of people didn’t know, and my endorsement helped him tremendously, and I know him very well. He’s a great guy.”

“We have other great people,” he said. “I mean, you look at some of … the Republican people that have done a great job with states, and you don’t see that with the Democrats. I mean, they kept their states closed and locked down, and the schools are closed. It’s just absolutely outrageous how they get away with it.”

Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) also said earlier this month that he is expecting Trump to run.

“I think he’s gonna run,” Jordan said, according to the Des Moines Register. “I want him to run. He’s proven he can take the heat. We’re at a moment now where you’ve got to have someone who’s willing to fight, willing to stand up to all the abuses.”

We as a nation desperately need someone like Trump or DeSantis in the White House right now. It will certainly be interesting to see if Trump moves forward with his plans to run for president again and if DeSantis changes his mind about doing so as 2024 gets closer.

I see DeSantis like Trump doing good things but not doing what really should be done.

I would like to see DeSantis run as V.P. with Trump in 2024. They are so compatible in their political and social philosophies they would be an unbeatable team. That would give Trump 4 more years and DeSantis eight as President. Hopefully it will be enough time to repair the damage the demented old sock puppet has and will do.

I don’t think Floridians would agree. Ron should stay in FL until 2028, THEN run for President.

I think a Trump/DeSantis ticket is just what this country needs in 2024 — and from the looks of things – maybe sooner along with all the democrap garbage ousted from our congress in 2022 !!!!!

While logical to think that a less confrontational candidate than Trump may bring more unity and thereby accomplish more, there is equal or perhaps more value in a proven warrior who can withstand the endless liberal barrage that comes from every direction. Trump has this proven ability and recent polls show him by far, the leader. Ron would be a great asset.

That would be good, but hate to lose DeSantis as Governor. He is doing a Great job here in Florida. He is for the people.

Plus his actions have encouraged other Govs. to follow his lead. I think he is more effective where he is now. Yes, maybe after Trump, but for now, there are plenty of great people to be Trumps VP.
