Biden, Obama, NYT, And AOC Line Up For Newsom

Things look tough for recall.

The Democrats have brought out their big guns in a big Democrat state. It is working. Recall has lost momentum and may have peaked too early. Our conclusion? Newsom stays. We hope we are wrong.

Biden is in the state on Monday campaigning for Newsom. If Newsom wins Tuesday the press will play it as a partial political recovery for Biden.

FNC: “California Gov. Gavin Newsom’s campaign announced Thursday that the day before the state’s gubernatorial recall election, President Biden will join Newsom at a rally in Long Beach.

The rally, Newsom’s last before his fate is decided by the recall vote, will take place Monday. Biden will be encouraging Californians to vote against the recall, Newsom’s campaign said. California voters received mail-in ballots that were sent out in August. Biden will be encouraging voters to make sure to submit their completed ballots on time. Californians must either return ballots via mail, postmarked no later than Tuesday, Sept. 14; submit them at a drop box, polling site or county election office no later than Tuesday at 8 p.m.; or vote in person on Tuesday.

Biden is the latest big-name Democrat to throw their support behind Newsom. Vice President Kamala Harris, formerly a senator from California, appeared with the governor at a rally in San Leandro on Wednesday. Former President Barack Obama is also backing Newsom. On Wednesday the governor shared a video of Obama delivering a message supporting him, and Obama himself tweeted a message of support.”

“California! You’ve got a big choice to make by September 14, and everything is on the line. Your vote could be the difference between protecting our kids or putting them at risk; helping Californians recover or taking us backwards,” Obama said. “Vote “no” on the Republican recall.”

Do you think President Biden should be impeached for the crisis in Afghanistan and loss of American lives?

The poll of likely voters conducted by the University of California at Berkeley Institute of Governmental Studies, found that only 38.5% of those surveyed support efforts to recall Newsom, while 60% stated they oppose the move. Those are not good numbers for recall. It’s not good news but it is solid intel. Never let confirmation bias get in the way of reality.

“The findings underscore a significant change in tempo in the state, as decidedly more Californians are attending to the pending election, and are intent on voting no,” IGS Co-Director, G. Cristina Mora said about the survey

The New York Times opined, “California’s process for recalling its governor is so broken, some Democratic strategists are encouraging a vote for a Republican former San Diego mayor because ‘he’s not insane’. Millions of mail-in ballots were already cast before the state even released a list of qualified write-in candidates to potentially replace the sitting governor … leaving voters to choose from a list of 46 mostly gadflies and wannabes…A system that allows a legitimately elected governor to be replaced with a fringe candidate winning only a small fraction of the vote is in desperate need of reform. California voters should vote no on the recall question, and the Legislature should, at last, begin the work of revising the state’s recall elections,” the editorial board wrote.

“The whole idea that a constitutional right, the right to choice, the right to reproductive freedom, rights of women, now are under assault – what a remarkable moment it is in American history,” Newsom told a campaign crowd, FOX 11 of Los Angeles reported.

After that indirect hit at Texas, Texas Governor Greg Abbott responded, “California is losing population to other states. Also, business HQs are leaving CA at a record pace. Americans moving to Texas more than any other state. We’re also # 1 in business relocations. Texas policies attract people more than any other state.” Nice words, but unlikely to stop a Newsom win.

If the people of California don’t vote to recall Newsom they deserve what they get. This is there chance to get rid of their tyrannical Governor and elect a governor that will listen to them and work for them.
