In what appears to be another example of ‘Go Woke, Go Broke,’ the numbers came in for NBC’s Tokyo Olympics opening ceremony… and they hit a 33-year low viewership. TV viewers dropped 37% from the Rio de Janeiro opening ceremony in 2016.

The Tokyo Olympics, delayed a year because of Covid-19, only drew 16.7 million viewers on NBC on Friday. This is the smallest audience for an opening ceremony in 33 years, FoxNews reported.

One Tweet broke down several comparisons to the 16.7 million viewers of the ceremonies, showing that NBC’s “Sunday Night Football” averaged 17.3 million, Oprah interviewing Meghan Markle and Prince Harry on CBS averaged 17.8 million, and the recent NCAA Basketball Championship game on CBS averaged 16.9 million.

You would think the Olympics would do better.

Why does nobody care? With the games being delayed a year, extremely limited access for spectators, and the leftist politics being injected into the games in the name of ‘justice,’ why should we?
