The Texas Democrats who fled to Washington D.C. to avoid voting on Republican voter integrity bills are reportedly livid that President Joe Biden has not accepted their invitation to have a meeting.

The Austin Statesmen reported that Texas Democrats are “frustrated” that Biden has yet to meet with them.

“The quorum-busting Democrats in Washington have gained meetings with several high-profile party leaders in their quest for federal action on voting rights, including House Majority Whip James Clyburn, Vice President Kamala Harris and several Democratic senators,” the Statesmen reported. “But they still await the biggest get of all: President Joe Biden. And on Thursday, they expressed frustration over the White House’s apparent disinterest in scheduling a meeting with members of the Texas group.”

One of the Democrats “vented” about this during a Zoom meeting with Rep. Lloyd Doggett (D-TX).

“He won’t meet with us on Zoom like this, and I’m trying to be tactful, but I don’t know how else to say it, man. I’m just pissed off at this point. He doesn’t give us the respect the way you have,” said Rep. Richard Peña Raymond.

Biden’s reasoning for not meeting with the Texas Democrats might not be all political. Six of the Democrats have tested positive for COVID-19 after flying to Washington D.C. maskless on a private jet, according to Daily Wire.

The Texas Democrats are planning to stay in Washington D.C. until August 7, when they can no longer be pulled into a special legislative session. While the trip has cost an astonishing $1.5 million so far, the lawmakers claim that that money is coming out of campaign funds and from supporters who are anxious to see their effort succeed.

The Democrats have been begging for care packages from home online as if Washington D.C. was some kind of wasteland. It should be noted that they are staying in luxury hotels there at this time.

Social media users have been quick to offer the Texas Democrats some advice.

“They’re in a luxury hotel with full room service, starting at $189 a night, with 7-11, CVS and restaurants a block away,” one user commented, with another bluntly adding, “Tell them to go home.”
