In a recent phone interview with CBS News, Vice President Kamala Harris once again was caught in a lie.

During the call Harris said she was in contact with Republican senators and leaders about S.1, the Democrat-backed voting bill. She informed CBS that she had discussed the measure with Senator Lisa Murkowski (R-AK), while trying (and failing) to demonstrate she had the political clout to reach across the aisle.

“I have spoken to Republican senators — both elected Republicans and Republican leaders…I’ve talked with Murkowski about this issue,” said Harris.

The only problem…she did not in fact speak with Murkowski about voting reform. Harris’ team later explained that the conversation was actually about infrastructure, a term the Democrats really struggle with.

Despite being a wildcard on the Republican side of the Senate, and having a history of siding with Democrats on several issues, Murkowski has spoken out against S.1. She has called it a “partisan, federal takeover of the election system,” which it most certainly would be.

However, to our previous point, Murkowski is on the other hand a co-sponsor and supporter of the John Lewis Voting Rights Act, which is opposed by Republicans but supported by the White House.

The latest setback for Harris is. yet another blow to the VEEP who has struggled a great deal in her role.

Furthermore, the setback comes after reports that Harris’ team is “traumatized” at her office and “terrified” that she may succeed President Joe Biden if he dies before the end of his term.

There have been consistent reports in the media, from both sides, that not all is well with Joe Biden, nor is it within Harris’ office which has been described as hostile and chaotic.

It’s hard to imagine things being worse in the country then they are right now under Joe Biden, but your imagination does not have to wander too far to see a perhaps even worse situation.
