A group of more than 300 migrants attempted to enter the United States through a gate near Del Rio, Texas, according to a video posted Monday by Fox News national correspondent Bill Melugin.
According to reporting and photographs from Melugin, the migrants, the majority of whom were from Haiti, gathered near the entrance as law enforcement agents from Nebraska, Texas, and Florida stood guard alongside the Border Patrol.
According to Melugin, some migrant families from the crowd were allowed to enter the nation through the gates. According to the footage, several of the adult men attempted to break through the fence by overwhelming the law enforcement personnel present, only to be yelled at and told to return.
“It’s unclear what’s going to happen with this group,” Melugin said in a tweet. “Troopers tell me Border Patrol is completely overrun and their processing centers are all over capacity & they can’t handle a group this size. Concerns the group may have to wait in the blistering heat.”

He later reported, “Almost all ended up being let into the US.”

According to data provided Friday by Customs and Border Protection, law enforcement officials at the border took 1,277,722 enforcement actions as of June this fiscal year. According to the CBP, the number of attempted illegal entries into the United States increased by 5% last month, compared to the already high number in May.
According to the agency, a “larger-than-usual” number of migrants have tried various unauthorized incursions.
“We are in the hottest part of the summer, and we are seeing a high number of distress calls to CBP from migrants abandoned in treacherous terrain by smugglers with no regard for human life,” acting CBP Commissioner Troy Miller said in a statement.
He continued, “Although CBP does everything it can to locate and rescue individuals who are lost or distressed, the bottom line is this: the terrain along the border is extreme, the summer heat is severe, and the miles of desert migrants must hike after crossing the border in many areas are unforgiving.”
Del Rio, where the mob had assembled on Monday, is one of several places along the southwest border that have seen spikes of illegal entrants attempting to over the US-Mexico border close at various times during the Biden administration’s continuing border crisis.
The federal government’s response to the problem was so irritating that Del Rio Mayor Bruno Lozano, a Democrat, publicly complained in May that the administration was downplaying the crisis and not doing enough to fix it.
A group of Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials and sheriffs filed a complaint against the Biden administration earlier this month, alleging that the administration put up barriers in its efforts to keep the nation’s borders safe from unauthorized entrance.
On top of the existing border scenario, there are fears that political changes in Cuba and Haiti will result in an influx of migrants attempting to enter the United States by water and land.
The Biden administration has asked immigration officials to prepare for “hundreds of thousands of migrant families and asylum claims,” according to the Washington Free Beacon, as it moves to end Title 42, a provision that allows the US to turn away illegal immigrants due to the risk of them spreading disease. COVID-19.
“Border Patrol agents, Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents and customs officers are stretched thin trying to protect and secure our border,” an anonymous official told The Free Beacon.
The anonymous official continued, “All of these people will become permanent residents. There’s no political will from the Biden administration to deport families once they’re already admitted. The White House knows that. The end of Title 42 will result in de facto open borders.
