Texas Republican Gov. Greg Abbott has reportedly begun building of his state’s own border fence in an attempt to calm the border crisis and “take the feds out of the equation.”
Though only a chain link fence in many ares, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the goal is to eliminate the federal government from the equation. They can use no trespass signs to make arrests on local offenses. Instead of calling Border Patrol, migrants will be taken to jail for breaking Texas law.
I asked what a chain link fence is going to stop? Texas DPS tells me the idea is to cut the feds out of the equation. No trespass signs allow them to arrest on local charges. Instead of calling Border Patrol, they will take migrants to jail for violating Texas law. @FoxNews

Fox L.A.’s Bill Melugin also tweeted out this regarding his visit to the Texas border.
We were given access to the beginning construction of Governor Abbott’s promised TX border barrier. The first 1.5 mile stretch is here in Del Rio, yards from Rio Grande. No trespass signs will be added. Migrants will be arrested on state charges if they cross.

In June, Abbott said that the state will invest heavily in a border wall to address the growing migrant crisis, which has grown and festered all along the Southwest border (Texas included) since the Biden administration took office.
In a press release the governor said “The Biden Administration has abandoned its responsibilities to secure the border and Texans are suffering as a result.”
Abbott added, “The problems along the border are only getting worse due to President Biden’s inaction. Property is being destroyed, deadly drugs and illegal weapons are being smuggled into communities throughout the state, law enforcement is having to redirect their resources, and county judges and mayors are facing skyrocketing expenses.”
In a statement on Twitter Governor Abbott also said the following.
“Texas is doing more than any state has ever done to protect the border, but it is clear that more is needed. In the Biden Administration’s absence, Texas is stepping up to get the job done by building the border wall. Through this comprehensive public safety effort, we will secure the border, slow the influx of unlawful immigrants, and restore order in our border communities.”

In the face of great adversity and an unprecedented surge of illegal immigrants at the border, Governor Abbott and Texas are taking matters into their own hands and protecting great citizens of Texas, and they are doing so in the face of Joe Biden and his disastrous policies which will always put America last.
