After weeks of intense fighting between Israel and Hamas, a cease-fire deal has been reached. In the 11 days of conflict, Hamas has fired over 4,000 rockets into Israel, causing at least 12 deaths. Having every right to defend themselves, Israel fought back with 230 Palestinians being killed in the crossfire. But while the country tries to restore order and rebuild, it appears President Biden is more worried about taking credit than actually brokering peace.
Considered the worst violent outbreak since the 2014 Gaza war, Biden seemed to worry little about the damage being done and more about who helped stop the violence. It should be noted that several outlets are reporting that it was Egypt who was able to break the tension between Israel and Hamas. Their efforts led to the ceasefire, but again – Biden forgot to mention that fact when he spoke from the White House.
Biden said, “Over the last 11 days, I spoke with the prime minister six times. I’ve also spoken with President Abbas and the Palestinian Authority more the once and part of our intense diplomatic engagement. And I want to also thank secretary of state, the secretary of defense, our national security adviser, and everyone on our team for their incredible efforts to bring this about, this outcome that we’re about to see.”
Still unaware of which side to defend, Biden even said, “The United States fully supports Israel’s right to defend itself against indiscriminate rocket attacks from Hamas. I assured him of my full support to replenish Israel’s Iron Dome system to ensure its defenses and security in the future.”
Biden’s statements about supporting Israel and their right to defend themselves come after the President has made several conflicting claims. At first, Biden claimed to side with Israel only to have the Democratic party turn on him. One member even confronted him on a runway tarmac to discuss the violence inflicted by Israel. But again – it’s Israel who is just defending themselves and people from terrorists.
While Biden claims to side with Israel, it’s only a matter of time before the Democrats take a stand and force their puppet President to push their narrative. And if Biden is good at anything – it’s playing the game.
