In a new interview with CBS on Friday morning, Hunter Biden discussed his past struggles with substance abuse as he talked about the intervention his family allegedly had for him last year.
“In his interview with Mason, Biden described an emotional intervention his family staged at his father’s home in Wilmington during the 2020 presidential campaign,” CBS News reported. “After a tense confrontation, Biden stormed out of the house, only to be chased down the driveway by the future president.”

“And your father chased you?” reporter Anthony Mason asked Biden.
“Yeah, because I tried to get into the — I tried to go to my car, and my girls literally locked the door to my car and said, ‘Dad, dad, please, you can’t, no, no,'” Biden replied. “This was the hardest part of the book to write. And he grabbed me, in a hug, and grabbed me. He gave me a bear hug. And he said, he just cried, he said, ‘I don’t know what to do. I don’t know what to do. Please.’”

When asked what he thought when he heard his father say that, Biden responded, “I thought, I need to figure out a way to tell him that I’m going to do something so that I can go take another hit. That’s the only thing I could think. Literally, that’s how powerful. I don’t know of a force more powerful than my family’s love, except addiction.”
Biden is currently promoting his new memoir “Beautiful Things,” which he partly used to attack former President Donald Trump.

“I became a proxy for Donald Trump’s fear that he wouldn’t be re-elected,” Biden wrote in excerpts of the book obtained by The Guardian.
“He pushed debunked conspiracy theories about work I did in Ukraine and China, even as his own children had pocketed millions in China and Russia and his former campaign manager [Paul Manafort] sat in a jail cell for laundering millions more from Ukraine.”
“None of that matters in an up-is-down Orwellian political climate,” he continued. “Trump believed that if he could destroy me, and by extension my father, he could dispatch any candidate of decency from either party, all while diverting attention from his own corrupt behavior.”
