It wasn’t long after President Biden showed support for the MLB wanting to move their All-Star game out of Georgia that news broke revealing the game was indeed set to be moved. The reasoning for the sudden change of venue comes after the state passed new voter laws that have the left screaming “Jim Crow”. Thanks to the Democrats and even Biden himself, a series of false facts are being circulated about the new laws that the majority of voters support. But while the MLB embraces the justice warrior mentality of the liberal left, they face a new series of challenges as Republican states are turning their back on America’s favorite pastime.

Just a few weeks ago, a survey showed that half of sport’s fans were turning off their televisions because of the politics being injected into sports. While politics has its time and place, people are growing frustrated with it being the main topic of every aspect of American life. Sports should not be about politics, but the showcasing of human athleticism. Still, the MLB decided not to listen and take a political stance. Now, Texas Governor Greg Abbott is taking a stand against the MLB.

On Monday, Governor Abbott announced he would not only refrain from throwing the first pitch at the Rangers’ home game but that Texas would not be seeking to host the All-Star game either.

In a letter addressed to the MLB, Abbott said, “Thank you for the invitation to throw the first pitch at the Texas Rangers’ home opening game. I was looking forward to it — until Major League Baseball adopted what has turned out to be a false narrative about election reforms in Georgia, and, based on that false narrative, moved the MLB All-Star Game from Atlanta. It is shameful that America’s pastime is not only being influenced by partisan politics, but also perpetuating false political narratives.”

Abbott’s letter comes after a heated response from the Governor about how the MLB is turning itself into a stem of “cancel culture”. On Sunday, the Governor blasted the MLB, saying “This attack on our state is the direct result of repeated lies from Joe Biden and Stacey Abrams about a bill that expands access to the ballot box and ensures the integrity of our elections. I will not back down. Georgians will not be bullied. We will continue to stand up for secure, accessible, fair elections. The State of Texas was proud to help MLB host last season’s National League playoff games and the World Series in Arlington. However, I will not participate in an event held by MLB, and the State will not seek to host the All-Star Game or any other MLB special events.”

Knowing that the decision to move the All-Star game isn’t shared among all the players, Governor Abbott wished the Texas Rangers a great season and reiterated the “deep respect” he has for the team.
