The Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA) are going full “woke” and have announced they received $500,000 to fight “systemic racism.”
In a press release, the GSUSA said they received the funding from the Ford Foundation, a left-wing social justice organization. The funds will support a commitment to “dismantle systemic racism within the organization and create impactful change in the communities Girl Scouts serves.” The press release noted, “This marks the first major funding toward GSUSA’s commitment to becoming an anti-racist organization.”
It continued, “The Ford Foundation is proud to support Girl Scouts of the USA in their work to better serve our young leaders by solidifying their stance as an anti-racist organization,” said Darren Walker, president of the Ford Foundation. “We applaud Girl Scouts’ commitment to addressing and rooting out systemic racism by conducting a movement-wide audit in order to make the organization a more inclusive place for all members.”
In a separate post on the GSUSA website, they made another announcement including the following statements:
“We want to reiterate to all girls, volunteers, alums, supporters, families, and staff that we do not tolerate racial injustice and we know that Black Lives Matter.”
“Girl Scouts of the USA is forming a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Taskforce at the national board level to help create an organization that works for all girls, including by ensuring that Black, Indigenous, Latina, and all girls of color feel supported, welcomed, and treated with dignity and respect.”
“We will also support and train all Girl Scout staff in the areas of diversity, equity, and inclusion, and pursue in earnest the ongoing work of recognizing and challenging our own biases and internalized racism.”
It seems the Girl Scouts have fully embraced Marxist Critical Race Theory thinking. All this time I thought they were about selling cookies and having fun…
