White House chief medical adviser Dr. Anthony Fauci recently said that even if someone has received a number of the coronavirus vaccines in full, they should still not eat or drink with others indoors.

Fauci made his comments on MSNBC’s “The Mehdi Hasan Show” on Sunday.

Fauci Warns Against Eating Indoors

Host Mehdi Hasan asked Fauci, “What is the message to vaccinated and unvaccinated Americans as to what they should and should not be doing right now?”

Hasan added, “For example, eating and drinking indoors in restaurants and bars — is that OK now?”

Fauci said “it’s still not OK” to get together indoors.

“No, it’s still not OK for the simple reason that the level of infection, the dynamics of infection in the community are still really disturbingly high,” Fauci replied.

Fauci’s comments were predictably not received very well by a number of conservatives.

Fauci: ‘You Should Also Continue To Wear A Mask’

The doctor added, “Like just yesterday, there were close to 80,000 new infections, and we’ve been hanging around 60,000, 70,000, 75,000.”

Fauci urged Americans to get vaccinated but also implored them t0 continue wearing masks.

“So, if you’re not vaccinated, please get vaccinated as soon as vaccine becomes available to you, and if you are vaccinated, please remember that you still have to be careful and not get involved in crowded situations, particularly indoors where people are not wearing masks,” Fauci said.

He added, “And for the time being, until we show definitively that a person who’s vaccinated does not get this subclinical infection and can spread to others, you should also continue to wear a mask.”

In late March, Fauci said that children should wear masks, a demographic that has shown the lowest infections rates.

“When the children go out into the community, you want them to continue to wear masks when they’re interacting with groups or multiple households,” Fauci said.

Fauci’s proclamations have been generally well-received by the left. Not so much by the right.

Earlier this month, Rep. Thomas Massie of Kentucky co-sponsored Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s “Fire Fauci Act,” which would cut Dr. Fauci’s salary to zero, among other items.
