Rep. Rashida Tlaib, Democrat of Michigan, may be the most reprehensible member of Congress. Now, she has serious competition in that regard in both parties. Gaetz is a sniveling perv and Marjorie Taylor Greene is a loon. And if I were to list all the reprehensible Democrats this would become a multi-volume tome. But Tlaib is special.

She combines the stupidity of AOC, the rabid qualities of Maxine Waters, the sense of entitlement of Nancy Pelosi, and the ideology of Julius Streicher. Look it up.

Her latest comments on policing bring all that into one nice neat bundle. Tlaib wants to end the police. Not reform them, if they need reforming, but just stop enforcing laws. Oh yeah, jails need to go too. Why? The race card. Though police officers have normal relations with thousands of people of all races all across this country every day, Tlaib feels, not thinks, that the entire police and penal system is so racist that it must end.

That would be a surprise to the thousands of brave black police officers who put their lives on the line for American communities every time they go to work. That may be an epiphany to the many tough and noble black corrections officers who work in a sometimes brutal environment and try to show patience and restraint. But of course Rashida Tlaib, who has never been in their shoes, feels duty bound to insult and degrade them as racists.

Weirdly, Bernie Sanders does not agree with her. That’s a point for the old Bolshevik. He knows a nut when he sees one and Tlaib is seriously around the bend. So Bernie makes sure they are not simpatico on this one. At least publicly.

FNC: “Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., on Wednesday said he doesn’t agree with Rep. Rashida Tlaib D-Mich., who called for ‘no more policing, incarceration, and militarization’ following the fatal police shooting of Daunte Wright in Minnesota. ‘No I don’t,’ Sanders told CNN.

” ‘I think that what we need to do is to understand that there needs to be major, major police reform all across this country. We are tired of seeing the same thing, week after week and year after year. We do not want to see innocent African Americans shot in cold blood.”

Though, in response to Tlaib, Sanders got bizarre himself. He states black Americans are shot in cold blood by cops. Really? When? Name the incident where a police officer just went up to a black person and shot them for no reason. No, running away from a police chase or committing a crime are actual reasons you could get shot. Perhaps not good reasons all the time, but they are in the ballpark. So, let’s take away that point from Bernie. Yes, that feels much more normal.
