Wyoming Governor Mark Gordon announced his state will become the latest to remove a mask mandate and lift all restrictions on certain businesses such as bars and restaurants.

The order indicates that businesses will be able to “resume normal operations” and most people will be free to choose whether or not to wear masks on March 16.

Gordon continued to urge residents to wear face coverings in indoor public spaces while stating they would continue to be required for students inside school classrooms.

Still, the first step toward normalcy seems to be underway in the Equality State.

“I thank the people of Wyoming for their commitment to keeping one another safe throughout this pandemic. It is through their efforts that we have kept our schools and businesses operating and our economy moving forward,” Gordon said.

“I ask all Wyoming citizens to continue to take personal responsibility for their actions and stay diligent as we look ahead to the warmer months and to the safe resumption of our traditional spring and summer activities.”

Wyoming, Republican States Lifting Mask Mandates

Gordon noted the “declining number of active COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations” in Wyoming as well as strides in a vaccine rollout as reasoning for easing restrictions.

Last week, Texas Governor Greg Abbott and Mississippi Governor Tate Reeves announced that their states would also be lifting mask mandates and opening businesses up to full capacity.

Liberal politicians haven’t been too thrilled at the prospect of having states lift mask mandates and open businesses.

“Repealing the mask mandate now endangers so many people, especially essential workers [and] the vulnerable,” Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said without evidence.

California Governor Gavin Newsom, who routinely ignores mask mandates and business COVID restrictions, called such a move
“absolutely reckless.”

Which is, of course, absolutely asinine.

One State Has Them All Beat

While the lifting of the mask mandates and onerous restrictions on businesses is a welcome sight to freedom-loving Americans everywhere, one state has even Wyoming, Texas, and Mississippi beat.

South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster (R) recently boasted that his state’s mask mandate never existed.

“Unlike Texas and Mississippi, we cannot lift a mask mandate because we never had one in the first place,” McMaster bragged.

“We gave South Carolinians the freedom to choose for themselves what’s best for their health and family,” added McMaster.

This is exactly how America used to be before blue-state governors decided they were no longer interested in freedom.
