On Friday’s episode of his MSNBC show “Morning Joe,” host Joe Scarborough gushed over President Joe Biden’s first press conference the day before while also blasting the way conservative media responded to it.

Scarborough claimed that Biden was “far more articulate than Donald Trump ever was,” and that the former president “didn’t know about issues” and “didn’t want to know about issues.”

“You know, you would hope, when you keep telling a group of people, ‘Don’t stick your hand on the stove,’ they’d learn. I said it before the debate, ‘Don’t put your hand on the stove. It’s going to burn.’ And they go, ‘Ow!’ Then they move it back up there. ‘Ow!’ You just wonder, really, how thick are these people?” Scarborough said. “How bad are they when it comes to figuring out how politics works and the game of expectations? Mika, they’re saying this guy can’t walk, he can’t talk, he can’t think, he’s a drooler. And then he goes out, and he gives a press conference where he’s far more articulate than Donald Trump ever was, because Donald Trump, he didn’t know about issues, he didn’t want to know about issues. Nobody could ever brief the guy.”

“And so, Joe Biden goes out, all of these people have lowered expectations, and they’re playing right into his hand. They keep playing into his hand every time,” he added. “And you just wonder how stupid they’re going to continue to be by playing into his hand. If I were a Republican legislator, I would be so angry at the idiocy of these people. They’re just helping Biden.”

“[T]his president has a briefing book where he actually gets ready for a press conference so he can brief the press,” co-host Mika Brzezinski said, at which time Scarborough interjected to say, “And knows what he’s talking about, unlike the last guy.”

This comes after Trump himself spoke out to call out the media for feeding Biden “softball questions” in his press conference.

“They were strange questions and they were asked in a very interesting way. It was like softballs, like you’re throwing softballs up. And it’s just a different world, nobody’s seen anything like it,” Trump told Fox News host Laura Ingraham. “It’s very sad to watch, actually. They’re feeding him questions, they’re easy questions.”

Not stopping there, Trump went on to say that Fox News White House reporter Peter Doocy was not called on to ask a question during the presser, noting, “I noticed Peter Doocy didn’t get to ask a question today.”

“And there could be no difficult questions, and they’re ready to rip the microphone away if somebody did get a little bit testy,” Trump continued. “Look, the whole thing is ridiculous. You know it and so do I.”
