Sanders Whines Over Newsom Recall

Schadenfreude at it's best.

Not only showing off his general cluelessness, but giving conservatives the bonus of enjoying his befuddlement, Bernie Sanders doesn’t seem to understand why almost 2 million voters have signed the Newsom recall petition in California. Sanders also doesn’t understand basic economics, world history, and the horseless carriage.

The Vermont socialist thinks Newsom is going under for masks and science. Uh, no. He’s going under for being a huge hypocrite.

FNC: “Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., urged Democrats on Monday to ‘unite’ against the recall effort against California Gov. Gavin Newsom. Sanders claimed that Newsom is facing a recall ‘for the crime of telling people to wear masks and for listening to scientists during COVID.’ Recall organizers announced on Sunday that the petition against Newsom reached 1.95 million signatures. The number of signatures has surged since Newsom’s infamous French Laundry scandal, which came amid the governor’s strict lockdown policies. The California governor has a history of breaking his own lockdown rules. He attended the birthday party of a longtime adviser at a restaurant in November 2020 after closing indoor dining across the state. Newsom later apologized for the incident. Additionally, Newsom appeared to post a TikTok video inside a restaurant in a county with indoor dining restrictions. His office denied the governor had eaten at the restaurant.”

“Right-wing Republicans in CA are trying to recall @GavinNewsom for the crime of telling people to wear masks and for listening to scientists during COVID,” Sanders wrote on Twitter…Extremist Republicans have done enough to undermine democracy already. We must all unite to oppose the recall in California,” the Bolshevik senator added.

“I don’t think Bernie Sanders knows what his own followers and fans and voters are doing here in California,” Recall leader Randy Economy told “Fox & Friends” on Tuesday.

“A lot of our people who have signed our petitions are Bernie-crats, because they’re sick and tired of the mess that’s been created by Gavin Newsom [and] the Democratic Party here..[Sen. Sanders] needs to kind of get a little reality check on what his troops are doing out here in the Golden State, because when he makes nonsensical comments like that, it’s just a poor reflection upon the reality of what we’re doing here in California. You know, it’s been an emotional roller coaster for so many of us, including me personally, because we can just look at the collateral damage that Gavin Newsom has done to so many millions of Californians’ lives, whether it be the small business owner in East Los Angeles or the restaurant worker up in Oakland,” he said. “Everything that he has done during this pandemic, he’s done wrong…We’re going to have a big election, a huge election that everybody in the world is going to be watching,” he added. They will. As it currently stands, it’s gonna be sweet.
