Former President Donald Trump may be out of office, but Joy Behar is making it clear that she’s not done attacking him yet.
On Monday’s episode of “The View,” Behar had yet another anti-Trump meltdown, this time saying that she believes that by 2024, she believes the former president will be in New York City’s Rikers Island prison. She said this during a panel discussion on Trump’s CPAC speech that he gave over the weekend.
“Well, first of all, I didn’t watch CPAC, so I have some questions,” Behar said, according to Yahoo News. “Was there a laugh track this year? Because it’s really the funniest show on television, and I thought CPAC is perfect because C stands for ‘cult.’ You know, I’ve never seen people working so hard to worship the god that is Donald Trump. I don’t think that he will run again in 2024 unless he does it from Rikers Island.”
“It’s interesting what happened in the world this week,” she added. “Nicolas Sarkozy, who was the president of France, has been convicted, and he’s under arrest for a year. Berlusconi — he was the president of Italy for a while, was also arrested, convicted, and put on house arrest. So there’s a precedent set in the world. It’s not, like, oh, we can’t imagine a former president under arrest. Yes, we can. Yes, we can.”
Referring to two New York attorney generals, Behar concluded by saying, “Cyrus Vance has got some plans for him, and Letitia James has plans for him.”
At another point in the show, Behar took issue with the theme of CPAC being “America Uncanceled” this year.
“The people who are getting canceled are Republicans by other Republicans,” Behar said. “Liz Cheney was canceled by the Josh Hawley wing, and Adam Kinzinger is being canceled…so they’re cancelling each other. It’s fascinating to watch.”
Behar’s cohost Sara Haines didn’t like that Trump doubled down on unity in the Republican Party in his speech.
“But he did take the time to rattle off 17 Republicans names like a blacklist — to the cancel culture that Joy just mentioned, they now have targets on their back,” she said.
CPAC SPEAKERS REPEAT ELECTION FALSEHOODS: Over the weekend, the biggest names in the GOP appeared at CPAC, including former Pres. Trump where he repeated lies in his speech and hinted at a 2024 comeback — we react. https://t.co/yKk0uoeP8X pic.twitter.com/sUzZH0vSAk
