Earlier this month, FOX 10 Phoenix news anchor Kari Lake, who has been at the top of the Arizona new ratings for many years, publicly resigned in apparent disgust. As BizPacReview’s Tom Tillison put it, Lake is, “proving there still may be a handful of journalists out there who still value integrity.”

I normally opine and report on law enforcement-related issues and stories. However, since media bias is a chief enemy of law enforcement, and since Lake is leaving due to having to report half-truths and preferred narratives of the anti-police (anti-truth) left, I gave myself an exception. Lake said, “It’s been a serious struggle for me, and I no longer want to do this job anymore.”

Lake said taking time off for family “health leave” gave her time to reflect on her profession. Lake mentions negative changes, including political bias in journalism and media. This is refreshing and hopefully just the first of many others to come.

“Sadly, journalism has changed a lot since I first stepped into a newsroom, and I’ll be honest, I don’t like the direction it’s going,” Lake said. She added, “The media needs more balance in coverage and a wider range of viewpoints represented in every newsroom at every level and at each position.” The popular anchor also said she no longer feels “proud to be a member of the media.”

Lake feels, by remaining a news anchor, she was reading news copy that was contributing to “fear and division.” She got specific in her criticism, too, especially when citing blowback she’s received from craven leftist critics.

For instance, they attacked her for tweeting a video of two doctors giving a scientific presentation that questioned the efficacy of the CCP virus lockdowns. It was simply their professional opinions based on scholarly research and conclusions that rankled the leftist establishment. Some social media censored and “debunked” this video.

As a demonstration of how disgusting the media swamp has gotten for honest journalists, leftists attacked Lake simply for having Rumble and Parler accounts. Both declare they are free-speech platforms that present content from across the political spectrum.

Critics also accused her of sharing “conspiracy theories” and attacked her for having an account on another free-speech platform, Gab. They described Gab as, “a social media site loved by Nazis.” This is such a mind-numbingly stupid accusation I feel compelled to present the results of some related research.

It’s believed some Nazis also love their AT&T cellphone service, driving Ford vehicles, and eating lunch at MacDonald’s. And there is even a hypothesis that contends Nazis love the natural gas, electricity, and water their local utilities provide to their homes. In fact, it’s quite likely your local electric and gas company provides power to Nazis’ homes. Come on, folks. This is not just stupid, it’s boring.

Lake also committed one of the most egregious crimes one can in modern leftist America: she interviewed President Donald J. Trump. Since when is any journalist, right, left, or center condemned for conducting the interview of a career with any President of the United States? So, this attack goes even beyond boring; it’s really weird, right?

Who do you think would win the Presidency?

They also lambasted Lake after she dared to offer condolences to Rush Limbaugh’s family upon the talk radio luminary’s passing in February. What kind of country do normal Democrats want when they see this stuff in the name of their party?

I’m not talking about the radical neo-leftists who’ve taken over that party. I’m talking about the everyday Democrats who voted for this censorship regime simply because they were taught to hate President Trump. Regardless of how, ultimately, Joe Biden entered office, millions of normal Democrats voted for him and his handlers’ obvious America-weakening agenda.

Lake told the Arizona Daily Independent (ADI) the “nastiness” shown to her “is meant to scare other journalists who are open-minded and considerate of all points-of-view to snap back in line or they, too, will be ‘canceled’ and their reputation attacked.” Lake says the CCP virus coverage pushed her over the edge professionally. She told the ADI she “felt the stories I was reading were not fully truthful.”

Lake said, “The cancel mob’s insistence that certain Covid-related stories not be told or even whispered, while others were told over-and-over made me feel as if I was not giving a balanced view of the situation to viewers.”

Lake is a courageous woman, and other journalists with integrity should emulate her. On a recent Dan Bongino podcast, he provided an object lesson showing how conservatives and libertarians could become politically active and push back against leftist tyranny. He showed a video from the 2009 Sasquatch Music Festival at the Gorge in George, Washington.

One man gets up and begins dancing, badly, but it doesn’t matter; he’s up there. Soon, another guy gets up and joins him. Before long, it seems everyone joins in and starts grooving. Applying the metaphor, Bongino encourages his audience to “be that second guy.” Completing the metaphor, here, you journalists out there with the same concerns as Kari Lake should know, she is that first dancer. Get up there and “dance” with her—be the second dancer.

On a final note, though my local FOX affiliate has sadly compromised its (fair and balanced) news-reporting integrity, I still initially winced that this story involved a FOX outlet. It is a shame that the FOX News organization has frittered away much of the goodwill it had earned, as an outlier of fair and balanced national news reporting.

The FOX News organization shoved its wonderful opinion personalities under Joe Biden’s No Malarkey bus with its un-FOX-like hijinks on Election Day, their slap-down of Newt Gingrich when he mentioned George Soros, and their nod to the current “censorship culture” in which they tweak “straight” news headlines to satisfy the leftist monoculture narrative. It sure looks like we traditional Americans have a lot of dancing to do.
